Diablo 4's Amazon gets four full archetypes, and yes, Javazon is back
Blizzard broke down her four archetypes and battle-first design at BlizzCon's What's Next panel.

Diablo 4's What's Next panel just ended and brought a lot more information about the Amazon. We already confirmed yesterday that she will come in Spring 2027. But we now learned more about her design and the inspiration behind this class.
The design team built her around three pillars: battle expertise, athleticism and swiftness, as well as more mystical magic, compared to our magic classes, Sorceress and Warlock. She can be a melee, mid-range or ranged fighter, and only relies on magic for support instead of casting spells.
The Four Archetypes of the Amazon
Blizzard confirmed four distinct archetypes to satisfy all types of players:
The Champion is armed with a sword and a shield, she is more of a melee fighter who buffs herself and her allies.
The Skirmisher is a javelin specialist with a hit-and-run damage style. She can be compared to a Spiritborn in terms of swiftness and agility.
The Ranger is armed with a very large bow, she becomes some sort of sniper on the battlefield with her tactical ranged attacks.
The Commander leads her armies into war. Blizzard kept most details under wraps for this archetype. Almost as if they are keeping some secrets to reveal later on. Butthey hinted that she commands phalanxes and Valkyries in battle.
That confirms the return of the Amazon's most popular builds from Diablo 2: the Javazon and the Bowazon. There is still a lot we do not know about these archetypes, as well as the skill tree.
The Amazon launches in the first half of 2027 as part of a Class Pack. Details and purchase price will be announced closer to release.
