Overwatch's Reign of Talon storyline reaches its final showdown
Doomfist and Vendetta face off in Overwatch's new animated short, as Blizzard teases the end of the Reign of Talon.
It is time for the Reign of Talon to come to an end.
Overwatch's story about Vendetta and Doomfist is reaching its conclusion with a new animated short.
In the Wolf's Mouth shows the final confrontation between Doomfist and Vendetta as the two fight for control of Talon, and you get a small teaser of what might be coming next.
The short is everything you would hope for.
Amazing animation, and another great storyline.
Doomfist vs. Vendetta
It follows a year of changing loyalties and ambition within Talon, the organisation that has become the main "enemy" of Overwatch.
Vendetta has been working to take control and change the group, challenging the leadership that Doomfist held before her. But Doomfist did not say his last word just yet...
The fight between Doomfist and Vendetta has been building since the beginning of the Reign of Talon.
Now, In the Wolf's Mouth brings that conflict to an end.
The short is basically the final confrontation for control of Talon, putting the two characters at the centre of the story once more.
Doomfist is determined to take back his spot as the leader of Talon. Maybe Vendetta should have made sure he was dead, instead of leaving it to fate...
And while Doomfist clearly has the advantage this time, it seems he is also determined to give Vendetta another chance by keeping her alive as well. However, she is not leaving with him.
So what is Overwatch going to do with her now?
What Comes After the Reign of Talon?
Blizzard says the Reign of Talon ends with this confrontation, but the end of the video also hints at what is next.
Talon is about to become something new. Something more fearsome...
So even if it is sort of the "end" of the Reign of Talon, it is definitely not the end of Talon itself. Even Sigma made a short appearance, finally allowed to leave Talon's bat-cave...
And with Vendetta leaving with Overwatch, it raises even more questions.
Will another character swap sides?
I guess you will have to wait for next season to find out more.
