Diablo 4 Mythic Crafting Guide: How to Craft Mythic Uniques

In Diablo 4, you can craft Mythic Uniques instead of praying for them. There are three crafting paths that all cost a different price, and one of them comes with an important problem: only one crafted Mythic can be equipped at a time. Here is how each method works, what the crafted tag means, and the best method to focus on.

First, all of them have the same requirement: Mythic crafting unlocks at character level 70, in Torment difficulty or higher. So you need to reach that first.

The Horadric Cube can directly upgrade a specific Unique into its Mythic version, the Jeweler can craft a random class-specific Mythic from a chosen slot, and the Blacksmith can create a random Mythic or Iconic Mythic cache. Each method works differently, and understanding the difference is important if you are trying to build around a specific Mythic.

The Horadric Cube Path

The Horadric Cube is now the main way to craft a Mythic Unique. It has a recipe that will upgrade a direct item to Mythic that lets you take a specific Unique and turn it directly into its Mythic version. Unlike the previous version of the recipe, there is no random Mythic pool involved.

Put in the Unique you want, and you get that same Unique back as a Mythic. This method costs:

• 1 Ancestral Unique item

• 5 Resplendent Spark

This means you can finally use a specific item as the Mythic you want. If you have a Tibault's Will with the best affixes for your build, and optimized Tempering and Masterworking, upgrading it through the Cube will preserve those affixes and modifications while turning the item into a Mythic. There is one important restriction: the item must be modifiable. Unmodifiable items cannot be used for this recipe, so be careful with Transfiguration. If you Transfigure an item you intended to turn into a Mythic, you will not be able to use the Cube upgrade.

Mythics created through this recipe receive the Crafted tag. You can only equip one Mythic with the Crafted tag at a time, regardless of the slot it occupies.

This makes the Cube the best option when you already know exactly the Mythic you want and have a good version of its Unique ready to upgrade.

Craft a Mythic Unique with Runes

The old rune-based crafting is still here, but it has been slightly updated over time. To craft one Mythic, you now need:

• 9 specific Runes

• 3 Resplendent Spark

You combine three Resplendent Spark with Runes to craft a Mythic Unique, then choose the equipment slot you want. The result is a random Mythic Unique usable by your class from that slot. So if you choose the Ring slot, for example, you will receive a random class-specific Mythic ring. You cannot pick the exact Mythic you want.

The important difference from the Cube is that Jeweler-crafted Mythics do not receive the Crafted tag. That means they are not subject to the one-Crafted-Mythic equip limit. This makes the Jeweler the better option if you are willing to gamble for a Mythic from a particular slot, especially if you do not already have the specific Unique you want to upgrade through the Cube.

Given how rare Legendary Runes are, this is the expensive path, and for most players, it only makes sense if you really farmed for a ton of Runes. If you need a specific Mythic from there, you can always check which Runes are needed at the Jeweler, and then ask other players if someone is willing to trade with you.

Crafting at the Blacksmith is More of a Gamble

The Blacksmith recipe is the only path to crafting Iconic Mythics. You can also craft Mythic Uniques as the Blacksmith has two different caches available.

The original Mythic items, now called Iconic Mythics, are the following:

Both caches cost the same thing:

• 3 Resplendent Spark

You will then obtain a random Mythic cache, which will generate an item from only the Iconic Mythic or the other Mythic Uniques pools. It will only general Mythic Uniques for your class.

Mythics obtained from the Blacksmith do not receive the Crafted tag, so they can be equipped on top of a Mythic created through the Horadric Cube or Jeweler.

The Blacksmith is basically a good way to gamble extra Sparks if you happen to have many.

What Exactly Do You Get From Crafting Mythics

Every crafted Mythic comes with the full Mythic quality affixes:

• Always Ancestral

• Unique Power boosted by 30 percent

• All affixes rolled at maximum value

• Any affix added later through tempering, enchanting, or Transfiguration also get the max rolls automatically.

On top of that, they also follow the Rule of Two, where two of the affixes are fixed by default (so always the same), and the rest roll randomly. One of those random ones can be enchanted at the Occultist.

A Mythic Unique can also roll one or multiple Greater Affixes.

The One-Crafted-Mythic Rule

You can equip exactly one crafted Mythic at a time, and only the Horadric Cube-crafted Mythics receive the tag. Jeweler and Blacksmith crafts do not count for that, as they are still random to a certain extent.

Mythics that drop naturally or come from reward caches are exempt as well. Anything that just drop in the open world can be freely equipped alongside your one single crafted piece from the Cube.

Mythic Unique Charms

Players can also equip Mythic Unique Charms, but these work differently from regular Mythic Unique items. Any Unique Charm has a small chance to drop as a Mythic Unique Charm. There is currently no crafting method for Mythic Charms, and there is no specific way to target-farm them.

Like other Mythic items, Mythic Charms have their properties rolled at maximum value and receive a significantly buffed Unique property.
