Diablo 4's Goblin event has ended early, and players want extra time

The event launched early, broke, and has now vanished before its scheduled end.

Diablo 4 Treasure goblins running around, there are 3 goblins running in different directions

If you logged into Diablo 4 yesterday and wanted to complete your March of the Goblin event, but realised the event and reputation board were both gone, you probably thought, "Did I misread the end date?"

It turns out you did not. The event is only supposed to end today, but it disappeared one day too early.

This is the second time this event has encountered a bug, since it also accidentally went live early and Blizzard had to disable the broken progression system before the official launch.

Right now, you sadly cannot access the reputation board or claim your remaining rewards.

Goblins Are Creating Chaos Once Again

It is always a Goblin problem, isn't it?

Once again, they are creating chaos. One of them started the event early, and now another one stole the reputation board and left with all the rewards!

Jokes aside, Blizzard released a post on the forum explaining that they know the event ended early, and they are looking into it.

We’re aware that the March of the Goblins event ended earlier than planned and the reputation board is no longer available. Thanks to everyone who flagged it so quickly.

The team is investigating the cause. We’ll follow up once we have more details.

For now, they have not explained what caused the event to disappear. Guesses are that it is probably linked to the early launch, but there is no confirmation of that.

The reputation board first appeared on October 27, before the event was officially scheduled to begin. However, killing Treasure Goblins did not grant reputation, and Blizzard temporarily disabled the board to avoid confusion. The event properly launched the following day with Patch 3.2.4.

One theory is that the original early activation somehow affected the event's internal timer, causing it to expire before the intended date.

Another guess is related to the PTR. This March of the Goblins was also somewhat available on the Season 16 PTR. At least you could interact with the reputation board. And the event on live mysteriously disappeared once the PTR ended, so maybe it ended the event in both versions of the game accidentally.

But these are just speculations, so we will have to wait for Blizzard's investigation before pointing fingers at a particular bug.

Players Want Blizzard to Extend the Event

An event ending early means that many players have lost time to finish the reputation board.

March of the Goblins had some really nice rewards at the end of the board, including mount cosmetics, a banner, and a Resplendent Spark at the final rank.

Completing it can also take a fair bit of time if you are unlucky.

Infernal Hordes can be an excellent way to farm reputation when a Goblin Chaos Wave appears, but relying on that spawn can take a lot of time. Otherwise, you are left hunting Treasure Goblins across Sanctuary, and that is even worse.

Players who thought that they still had 2 days to finish it now missed out on good rewards, so everyone is calling for a little event extension to make up for it.

Blizzard has not announced any compensation or an extended end date yet. For now, the team is investigating, and you will have to wait for another update.

Hopefully, the goblins have not managed to escape with the remaining event time as well.
