Diablo 4 restored Solo Self-Found and switched off a Warlock upgrade in the same night

The mode is back. A Warlock upgrade is not.

A dark ritual chamber in Diablo 4 lit by red magic, with rows of hooded cultists kneeling before a throne and a robed figure performing a rite inside a golden ritual circle on the floor.

Blizzard shared two Season 15 PSAs for Diablo 4 within minutes of each other, with the main focus being on an update regarding the Solo Self-Found situation. The good news is that SSF is back after being down since the launch of Season of Hell's Legacy, which is the fix that most players have been waiting on. And then there is news that might not be received so well by Warlock players, because one of the class's most-used skill upgrades has been switched off while Blizzard is trying to fix a related bug.

Ssf Is Back, and It Was a Seasonal Reset Bug

Solo Self-Found has been restored after the mode was offline since the season launched. The fix came with Hotfix 3 (patch 3.2.1), which cleared a small cluster of bugs. The one issue that stopped SSF from working at launch was that previous seasonal progress did not reset on a new seasonal SSF character, and now that it is sorted, SSF is switched back on. Yay! The same hotfix also solved the Tree of Whispers bug where caches could not be claimed, and a trade window one that was not showing items properly. So, if you want to finally start that solo run, you can now go for it.

Here is the Hotfix 3 note:

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Tree of Whispers caches could not be claimed.

  • Fixed an issue where previous seasonal progress would not be reset on new seasonal Solo Self-Found characters. The mode has since been re-enabled.

  • Fixed an issue where Items in the trade window didn’t display properly.

Fiend of Abaddon Loses Its Dominance Upgrade for Now

Now, in less joyous news, Blizzard has temporarily disabled the Dominance upgrade for Fiend of Abaddon, the Warlock ultimate, because its damage scaling is higher than intended. The upgrade would normally remove the cooldown of Fiend of Abbadon and apply it to Dominance instead, which is the backbone of the keep-it-always-up Warlock builds that a lot of players are running. With it switched off, however, those builds take a bit of a hit until it is patched, so if your Warlock relied on constant Fiend uptime, it will probably feel different for a bit. Blizzard says it is investigating and will post once the upgrade is back.

And the Warlock PSA:

● Blue postfilthierichCommunity Manager2026, September 18

We’ve discovered an issue where the Dominance upgrade for Fiend of Abaddon is causing damage to scale higher than intended. We’ve temporarily disabled the upgrade while we investigate and implement a fix.

We’ll post here with updates as soon as the upgrade is available again.

Two posts, two updates, no ETA on one. Solo players got their mode back, and Warlocks are down an upgrade until the fix. Both should settle soon, though.
