Paladins and Warlocks take over WoW Forever's $100,000 duel tournament
29 Paladins and Warlocks went undefeated in the WoW Forever Open qualifiers.
The Forever Open is a community tournament organized by Tips Out, Esfand, and Xaryu. Take a level 30 character and run one-on-one duels on the WoW Forever Beta for a chance to win a total prize pool of $100,000.
The big champion will take home $50,000, and the player who ranks the highest in each of the nine eligible classes earns a separate $5,555 prize. That means even classes that struggled during the qualifiers still have something to fight for.
And right now, Paladins and Warlocks are clearly dominating the tournament. It is crazy to see how far ahead they are compared to other classes.
29 Paladins and Warlocks With a Perfect 6-0
The open qualifiers have ended, and the results are in. Among 1380 participants, after 6 rounds, only 41 went a perfect 6-0, and 29 of them were Paladins or Warlocks.
Chris Baldwin@baldwinbuilds๐15 Paladins and 14 Warlocks went 6-0 in the Forever Open qualifiers. Every other class combined had 12 and not one Warrior did it.
Four of each class also made it to the finals, but it seems pretty clear that Paladins and Warlocks are running the entire thing. Chances are one of them will win the grand prize. However, a surprise can always happen.
There is also a community tally based on Raider.IO that compares all the results, and Paladins finished with a 63% win rate, followed by Warlocks at 60%. Retribution Paladins were the most successful with a 66% win rate, and Demonology Warlocks got 63%.
Meanwhile, Warriors struggled like crazy in the qualifiers, with only 39% win rate. Hunters had the most participants (around 300 players), but finished with only 47% win rate.

The finals take place today, on October 18, with four players from each class advancing from the qualifiers, so it will be interesting to see if it is indeed a Paladin or a Warlock coming out on top, or if one of the other classes manages to take the win.
