Diablo 4 Season 15 lets you share War Plans progress between characters
Your alts can keep the progress you already earned and still build their own plans.
When War Plans were released, everyone only wanted one thing: shared account progression. Because having to grind the entire War Plan trees over and over again every time you made an alt was just a whole bunch of additional work without valuable rewards. But from Season 15 onwards, making a new character in Diablo 4 will not mean starting your War Plans progress all over again.
Your War Plans Progress Now Follows You
Yes, Blizzard is finally making War Plans ranks shared between characters. This, of course, applies to characters that share the same game states, so this means:
Eternal or Seasonal
Hardcore or Non-Hardcore
Normal or Solo Self-Found
For example, a Seasonal Non-Hardcore character will share War Plans progress with your other Seasonal Non-Hardcore characters, but not with a Hardcore or SSF character.
The reputation points are shared, meaning your alt will not have to start from zero, however, the War Plans planner remains separate for each character. You can still pick the plan you want on the different characters. That also means you can spend your shared points differently depending on the character you are playing.
It is pretty much like how your shared Skill or Paragon points work: you get the account-wide progression, but you keep the ability to customize each character.
Season 14 War Plans Progress Transfer
There is also good news if you have already been grinding War Plans in Season 14. When Season 15 begins on September 15, your War Plans progress will carry over to your corresponding Eternal characters. Any progress you earned on one character will transfer over to Eternal and to all the corresponding characters as well. So if you had a full War Plan on a Non-Hardcore normal character, once it hits Eternal, that War Plan progress transfers over to all your Non-Hardcore characters as well.
Hardcore players have a slightly more complicated set of rules. You always have to be special on Hardcore. Only living Hardcore characters can transfer their War Plans progress when Season 14 ends. If your Hardcore character dies before the seasonal changes, its progress will not automatically transfer.
You can only keep the War Plans progress from a dead Hardcore character if you have another living Hardcore character to move to Eternal at the end of the season. That character can even be a level 1 storage character. Once it moves to Eternal, it will transfer the accumulated War Plans progress into your Eternal Hardcore progression.
It is not the biggest addition coming with Season 15, but shared War Plans progress was asked for by pretty much every existing player, so this should make creating and experimenting with new characters a lot less painful. You will still need to decide how each character spends its points, but at least your new character will not have to spend the season repeating a grind you have already finished.
