Diablo 4's Uber Prime Evil fight returns in Season 16, but group loot now needs more coins
The red portal stays open, but each player needs a Wirt's Lucky Coin to claim the new Hoard.

You probably noticed the fine line in the official Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR post that confirmed that some Season 15 content would remain.
We heard your feedback: some features from the Season of Hell's Legacy will be carrying forward into Season 16.
However, Blizzard did not make a list, and there was no information on what exactly was staying and what was leaving.
Now that PTR is live and everyone was able to explore it already, players found out that Old Tristram and the Uber Prime Evil fight against Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto were still available. The only thing that changes is how you enter and how you claim the rewards.
No Need to Throw a Coin Into a Fountain
This new version is still pretty similar, but when you make it to Old Tristram, you do not need
Wirt's Lucky Coins to interact with the fountain anymore.
The Red Portal is now always open, giving you free access to the fight.
Prime Evils' Hoard
However, if you want the rewards from this encounter, you need to spend a
Wirt's Lucky Coins to open the Prime Evils' Hoard chest. This is only for PTR, so it could be completely different once the season launches. For now, it is also unknown how you access
Wirt's Lucky Coins.
In Season 15, you needed to collect the 3 Prime Evil Splinters and then turn them into a coin at the Horadric Cube.
But those Splinters were Season 15 items, and they do not seem to appear in the PTR. So there might be a new way to farm for
Wirt's Lucky Coins. The 3 Prime Evil Dungeons are supposed to stay as well, so maybe you can still obtain the Splinters there.
This also means that if you complete the fight in a group of 4, all 4 players need to have a
Wirt's Lucky Coins. If one of them misses one, they will not be able to open the Hoard. So you basically need a total of 4 coins instead of one, for one fight.

You no longer need to use Wirt's Lucky Coins to fight the encounter - the red portal is always open. You do however need it to loot a new 'Prime Evils' Hoard' - which means your teammates can't…
