You can probably take on Diablo 4's Uber Tristram sooner than you think

If you can comfortably clear Pit 120, you should be ready to face all three Prime Evils.

Diablo 4's Uber Tristram fight is one of Season 15's most intimidating encounters on paper. You are walking into a room with Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal at the same time, and the game does not give you any recommended level or difficulty to tell you when you are ready. It would not be an issue if it were like Lilith or Uber Mephisto, and you do not lose any items when you try the fight out. The problem with Uber Tristram is that the entrance requires Wirt's Lucky Coin. If you go in too early and it turns out you cannot finish the fight, you pretty much have to go back out and farm the three Splinters of Evil needed to make another coin all over again. Because if you leave the fight, you lose the coin.

So, when should you try it?

Pit 120 Is a Good Benchmark

Based on what we personally tested, and what we could find out on Reddit, being able to comfortably clear Pit 120 is a good indication that your character is ready for Uber Tristram. It is not a 100% thing, because it also depends on your build and general survivability, but it seems that most players who managed to easily clear Pit 120+, can pretty much run over the three Prime Evils in the Uber Tristram fight.

That also puts the fight below what many players expected, because it is easier than T12 Mephisto and Lilith. Many assumed that Uber Tristram was roughly equivalent to a Torment 12 Echo of Mephisto, but that is probably too high. But again, it depends on your damage and survivability. Some people still struggle against Uber Mephisto on T12, but literally burned down Uber Tristram in a few seconds. There are also reports from players who attempted it around Pit 105 and found the fight much rougher, then found it considerably easier after pushing their character into the 120s. So even if Pit 120 is not a requirement, it definitely looks like you will have an easy time in Uber Tristram if your build can clear Pit 120.

A Few Other Things Can Help

You do need a perfect pushing build for it. Your build needs to be able to get you easily through high-end content. If you are comfortably clearing Pit 120, your damage is strong enough to deal with bosses, and you are not constantly dying in Torment 12 content, you are probably in a good position to give Uber Tristram a shot.

However, Uber Tristram is not just a normal boss fight with three health bars. The Prime Evils have mechanics that can make the encounter more chaotic, and the bosses can even recover health if you do not finish them off fast enough. So you need to deal enough damage, and you still need to pay attention to their attacks and avoid standing in everything they throw at you. Here are a few things you should do before attempting the fight:

  • Movement speed, a mobility skill, or Enigma

    • If you are a Rogue with Penetrating Shot Poison or Rain of Arrows, you should have enough mobility to easily evade any attacks

    • If you are a Warlock or Sorcerer or anything else, getting Teleport or Enigma can genuinely make the fight easier

  • Equip Soul Splinters that help with survivability

    • Splinter of Pain gives you Damage Reduction

  • Remove things that increase enemy damage over time, such as the Splinter of the Black Soulstone

  • Increase your Damage Reduction as much as possible

  • Pay attention to the telegraphed attacks that can one-shot

You can also do it on T10. You do not have to clear the fight on T12 if you just want to breeze through for one Hellfire Torch. If you really want to be sure you can clear the fight, you can always go for a T12 Mephisto benchmark, but from what we could see, it seems most people who can get through Pit 120 just deleted the Uber Tristram fight. Also keep in mind that you can teleport back to town to repair, but if you do anything other than that, the portal will close, so be careful in case you need multiple tries.
