Each Prime Evil in Diablo 4 Season 15 can drop his own Splinter of Evil, but one boss is much faster to farm

Hell difficulty, no guaranteed drops, and two backup sources if you get lucky.

If you need a Splinter of Terror, Destruction, or Hatred in Diablo 4 Season 15, there is a repeatable way to farm them. You just need to be pretty deep into Torment and have a very strong build.

The three Splinters of Evil come from the Hell versions of the Prime Evil Waking Nightmares. Before Torment 10, these dungeons show up with normal Capstone markers. Once you reach Torment 10, the markers turn red to show that they are now on Hell difficulty. Hell adds +30 Monster Power to each boss, which effectively means fighting Diablo, Baal, or Mephisto at Torment 13 difficulty.

Where to Farm Each Splinter of Evil

Each Prime Evil has a chance to drop his own Splinter of Evil in his dungeon:

  • The Splinter of Terror can drop from the Echo of Diablo in The Labyrinth (Hell) in Scosglen

  • The Splinter of Destruction can drop from the Echo of Baal in Worldstone Keep (Hell) in Fractured Peaks

  • The Splinter of Hatred can drop from the Echo of Mephisto in the Durance of Hate (Hell) in Hawezar

The Splinters are not guaranteed drops, so do not worry if you kill the boss and walk away empty-handed. You may need quite a few runs before one drops!

You Do Not Have to Farm All Three Bosses

If you just want all three Splinters rather than one specific one, any of them can also drop outside its own Prime Evil's dungeon, just much more rarely. So you do not have to fight Diablo for Terror, Baal for Destruction, and Mephisto for Hatred every time.

Worldstone Keep (Hell) in Fractured Peaks is the fastest Splinter farm. Look for the red Capstone marker on the map.
Look for the red Capstone marker in Fractured Peaks to find Worldstone Keep (Hell).

The best-known Splinter farm right now is Worldstone Keep. Baal is the easiest of the three because his dungeon clears much faster than the longer Diablo and Mephisto routes. Of course, you still need a strong build; otherwise Baal will not be an easy kill either. Blizzard has not published drop tables or rates for the Splinters, though, so if you need one specific Splinter, farming its own Prime Evil is still the more reliable option.

Seasonal Caches Can Drop Splinters Too

If you do not want to commit to dozens of Capstone runs, there are two other sources.

Seasonal reward caches, including the repeatable cache after progressing through the seasonal reputation rewards board, can also contain Splinters of Evil. They are random, so you cannot target a specific one this way, but they can save you quite a bit of farming if you get lucky.

Then there is Helltide. If an Echo of one of the Prime Evils appears during a Helltide, it can also drop a Splinter. Again, this is not a reliable way to target-farm.

And if you are collecting the three Splinters for the Season 15 secret rather than to change your Prime Evil alignment, do not consume them! You will need one Terror, one Destruction, and one Hatred together.
