Will GTA 6 really launch before we get a single word on Diablo himself?

The most delayed game of the decade is weeks away, and the Prime Evil still has not shown up in his own game. The forum has jokes, and a theory.

Three years after launch, the demon whose name is literally the title of the game has still not properly appeared in Diablo 4. GTA 6, meanwhile, launches on November 19. Of course, the Diablo community has noticed, and it has found a very good way of putting it.

Will we really get GTA 6 before we get Diablo in Diablo 4, or any news regarding the Prime Evil at all?

For years, the internet has joked about everything we somehow got before GTA 6. Now that Rockstar's game is just a little over two months away, Diablo 4 players have started to turn the meme around.

Grand Theft Soulstone Is Hard to Beat

The forum thread that inspired this piece starts with a very short observation and then gets progressively sillier from there.

Player comments range from imagining Diablo relaxing on a beach with every physical copy of GTA 6 to jokes about him being killed off in the three previous games, so the Prime Evil had simply decided to skip this one (Diablo 4).

Somewhere in the middle, between all the fun and banter, someone suggested a crossover called Grand Theft Diablo, which was quickly improved to "Grand Theft Soulstone." Hard to argue with that one, because a Soulstone is more or less how Diablo gets around, after all.

What we found particularly entertaining, though, is a message within the thread that mentions how video game titles have never been particularly literal. The comment came from Iggi, who is a very active user within the Diablo forums. They stated that you play as Link in The Legend of Zelda. StarCraft does not let you craft stars, and Final Fantasy has survived long enough to make the name increasingly questionable, as nothing is truly "final".

This was followed by a joke from a player who pretended they had only just learned that the hero of Diablo is not Diablo himself. Next, they added, we will be told that "the little girl with the pointy hat isn't Zelda." The audacity!

Diablo Is Probably Being Saved for Much Later

As fun as it is to joke about GTA 6 releasing before we even see Diablo in our Diablo game, there is a reasonable explanation behind all of this. Diablo 4 began with Lilith, then spent its two following expansions building out Mephisto's story. Lord of Hatred gave the Prime Evil an entire campaign instead of rushing straight to Diablo.

The common theory is that Blizzard is saving Diablo for much later. He could become the final Prime Evil we fight in Diablo 4, perhaps in a future expansion, or Blizzard could hold him back even longer for Diablo 5. None of those possibilities have been confirmed. Currently, even the rumors point elsewhere, with Maltahel being the next big name most people expect for Season 15.

Diablo 5 is likely a long way off, and it would be strange for Diablo 4 to end without ever letting us fight Diablo himself. That makes an expansion the safer bet. It could be the next one or the one after that, assuming Blizzard still has multiple expansions planned. Either Diablo or Baal would be a natural choice to follow Mephisto and receive an expansion of his own.

And we might not have to wait long to find out! BlizzCon 2026 is next weekend, on September 12 and 13, and Diablo could at least show up there in a teaser. That would spoil the joke a little, although a reveal is still very different from fighting him in the game.

Either way, GTA 6 has not beaten Diablo to Diablo 4 just yet. But November 19 (GTA 6's release date) is getting close, and the Prime Evil is still nowhere to be found...

Grand Theft Soulstone, indeed.

Can you really reach Torment 12 if you do not own any expansions?

Base-game players can realistically hit Torment 8-10 in Diablo 4. Here is where the ceiling sits and what the expansions add.

Diablo 4 now has two expansions, with possibly a 3rd one coming soon, so it is easy to forget how much of its content is available to players who only own the original game. Because yes, you technically do not have to buy any of the expansions. You can still participate in the seasons, or just play on legacy servers if that is what you want.

That brings up an interesting question, though. How far can you push a character if you only own the base game?

On the Diablo 4 subreddit, someone shared their experience and talked about reaching Torment 9 with a Necromancer. They simply wanted to know if you can push all the way to Torment 12 without the additional systems and power that come with the expansions. And it is a really interesting question, to be honest. You do not necessarily think about that once you own the expansions, but the reality is that a lot of players are in this scenario and might wonder the same thing. So we investigated a little bit.

There does not seem to be a single answer, but the experiences from other players do point to a general conclusion.

Torment 8-10 Seems to Be the Realistic Range

Most people on the base game manage to comfortably reach between Torment 8 and 10 without owning the expansions.

Every base-game class seems to reach somewhere between Torment 6 and 10. Someone had even reached Torment 11 with a Whirlwind Barbarian around Paragon 200, and believed Torment 12 might be possible with more Paragon levels and better gear. So there is no magical wall at Torment 8 or Torment 10.

Class and build choice clearly matter, and so does how much time you are willing to put into optimizing a character. If you are playing casually, you will obviously make it less far than someone who spends hours farming every day.

For most players, Torment 8-10 looks like a much more realistic expectation than Torment 12, where expansions start to become a much bigger deal.

The Problem Is Not Just Missing Content

The biggest difference is not that expansion owners have more activities to play. They also have more ways to make their characters powerful.

Lord of Hatred, in particular, adds multiple systems that can make a significant difference at higher progression levels. Players without the expansion are missing things such as Charms, Seals, additional skill upgrades, and the Horadric Cube's transfiguration system. Those systems might not make much difference when you are still climbing through the lower Torment tiers, but once you are trying to squeeze another tier out of an already optimized character, every additional source of power starts to matter.

Gear is another issue. Without the Cube and the other expansion systems, getting exactly what you need for a build can take much longer. Gearing can quickly become a nightmare without the Cube, and you might reach the point where you could play for multiple days without seeing an upgrade.

That is probably a better description of the situation than simply saying that the expansions are required. You can progress without them. The expansions do not suddenly make the base game unplayable. They basically just raise the ceiling and give you considerably more tools for reaching it.

Is the Base Game Still Worth Playing?

Yes, of course. If you only own Diablo 4, there is still a good amount of content available to you. You can level characters, play seasonal content, and spend a considerable amount of time working on your builds without immediately running into a wall.

The situation changes if your main goal is pushing your character as far as possible.

At that point, the missing expansion systems become increasingly difficult to ignore. You can compensate for some of that lost power with better gear, Paragon levels, and a stronger build, but you are ultimately trying to compete with characters that have access to multiple additional layers of optimization.

So if you are sitting around Torment 8 or 9 with the base game and wondering why the next tier suddenly feels so much harder, it may not mean you have built your character incorrectly. You might simply be approaching the point where the extra power available through Diablo 4's expansions starts to make a very big difference.

For everything below that, though, there is still plenty of Diablo 4 left to play.

Henri's Perquisition converts Dexterity into class power, but none of its listed classes normally builds around the stat.

More memorable items from older games will make their way into Diablo 4 with Season 15, but Henri's Perquisition is easily the cutest of the new (old) Legacy Uniques. If you have not played Diablo 3, we are talking about a Focus item with a tiny cat attached, and its unusual Dexterity power now has the community wondering if Henri is carrying a clue about a future class.

Before we get too excited, though, this is only a player theory... but it is a very fun one.

Henri Has Been Chasing the Same Mouse Since Diablo 3

Henri’s Perquisition first appeared in Diablo 3 as a Legendary Mojo for the Witch Doctor, a class that used Intelligence rather than Dexterity. Its lore explains that the enchanter Yanashima hired Paul of Westmarch to help create a powerful mojo. During the process, Paul's cat Henri leapt into the mixture while chasing a mouse and became an inseparable part of it.

The mouse was never seen again. Henri, however, is apparently still looking for it.

The official Diablo 3 website tooltip for Henri's Perquisition, an Intelligence-based Legendary Mojo for the Witch Doctor. Dropped on the ground, it even displayed as a sleeping cat.

The original item reduced the first hit taken from an enemy by 60-80% and then charmed that enemy for three seconds. Diablo 4 is changing both its slot and its power, but it has kept the most important part: the cat is still there. Players who saw the item during the 3.2 PTR even noticed that Henri blinks.

Its Dexterity Power Is an Odd Fit

In Diablo 4, Henri's Perquisition returned on the 3.2 PTR as an Offhand Focus for Sorcerers, Necromancers, and Warlocks. These are currently the only three classes able to use a Focus. Its PTR power read:

You gain Primary Stat equal to 85-115% of your Dexterity.

That class list makes the Dexterity conversion quite unusual. Sorcerers and Necromancers use Intelligence as their main stat, and Warlocks use Willpower. None of the three classes normally stack Dexterity through their regular class-specific gear affixes. They can still pick up Dexterity through their Paragon Boards and All Stats bonuses, but doing so means spending resources on a stat their builds would usually ignore.

Season 15 also gives Henri one possible partner. The Unique Splinter of the Black Soulstone granted up to 50 All Stats on the PTR. That includes 50 Dexterity plus 50 Intelligence or Willpower, depending on your class. Even before Henri's percentage Dexterity affix is applied, a perfect 115% roll would turn that extra Dexterity into another 57.5 points of primary stat.

The Greater Splinter of the Black Soulstone (center) grants All Stats in Season 15, giving Henri extra Dexterity to convert. (Season 15 PTR, subject to change.)

Henri also rolled with a percentage Dexterity affix on the PTR, giving the Focus even more Dexterity to convert. So there is a real build interaction behind the item, even if we do not yet know if it will be strong enough to justify using Henri over another Focus.

So Who or What Is the Dexterity For?

That strange combination of a Focus using Dexterity has led to a fun little theory on the Diablo 4 forums. If Henri's Perquisition scales off Dexterity, maybe it was originally created for a Dexterity-based class that would use a Focus. And since the item was a Witch Doctor Mojo in Diablo 3, the Witch Doctor itself has become the obvious dream pick for a lot of players.

There is a catch, though, and the item's own flavor text reveals it...

The Season 15 PTR version of Henri's Perquisition, now a Focus with a Dexterity-scaling power. Note the flavor text naming the Spiritborn. (Image from the 3.2 PTR and subject to change.)

Henri's New Lore Points Somewhere Else

The Witch Doctor theory becomes even stranger once you read Henri's new flavor text:

"It's just a cat," said Ankaj. Her uncle leaned in, "You are spiritborn. Look deeper."

Ankaj looks into Henri's eyes, sees the passing of ages, and discovers that the cat remains focused on one thing: "Mouse."

That reference seems pretty deliberate because Spiritborn and Rogue are Diablo 4's Dexterity-based classes. And yet, Henri cannot be equipped by Spiritborn. The Focus is limited to Sorcerers, Necromancers, and Warlocks.

There could be a simple balance explanation. Henri converts 85-115% of your Dexterity into your primary stat. For a Spiritborn, Dexterity is already the primary stat, so the item could almost double it before its percentage Dexterity affix is even considered.

Taken together with the Paragon and Black Soulstone interactions, Henri looks more like an unusual stat-conversion experiment than preparation for a secret class. It is still a Witch Doctor relic with Spiritborn flavor text, Dexterity scaling, and a class list containing neither.

Somehow, the tiny cat has only made this mystery stranger...

Yes, it really is a cat strapped to your character.

Blizzard teasing Diablo 4 news ahead of BlizzCon is nothing unusual. But Blizzard ANZ repeatedly putting Diablo and Baal together in its social media posts is starting to feel a little too suspicious. BlizzCon 2026 will start in a few days, and the Australian and New Zealand Blizzard account has been dropping posts around the two iconic Prime Evils twice now.

So naturally, Diablo 4 players are starting to wonder if there is something more behind it.

Diablo 4 Expansion or Diablo 1 Remaster?

First, we got Diablo himself: https://x.com/Blizzard_ANZ/status/2091480648783475020?s=20

And then they posted about Baal: https://x.com/Blizzard_ANZ/status/2095119646022119464?s=20

Baal has yet to make his return to Diablo 4, and it is the same for Diablo himself. The Lord of Destruction was absent from the base game and both of Diablo 4's expansions, and the Lord of Terror has somehow still never been properly fought or even introduced in a game called Diablo 4.

That could obviously change at BlizzCon.

The event already has a dedicated Diablo panel scheduled for September 12, so Blizzard has the perfect stage to reveal what is next for the franchise. And at the same time, a lot of players think that we could get a Diablo 1 Remaster or Remake. Teasing Baal and Diablo could both lead to one of these conclusions.

So, is Blizzard teasing the return of the remaining Prime Evils? Could Baal be the next big threat? Could Diablo finally return as an actual boss? Or are these posts simply Blizzard having some fun with two of the franchise's most evil villains?

At this point in time, nothing has been confirmed. But with the Diablo 4 team promising big news at BlizzCon, repeatedly teasing Diablo and Baal specifically feels like a pretty deliberate choice.

And if Blizzard is finally preparing to let us fight Diablo in Diablo 4, it would be hard to think of a better BlizzCon reveal.

Diablo 4 forums are split over Brent Gibson's BlizzCon 2026 tease. Here is what believers, skeptics, and one PTR clue suggest about Season 15.

Recently, we discussed Brent Gibson's famous quote "they're gonna freak out at BlizzCon when we announce…" and made our own predictions as to what it means for Diablo 4.

The forums have spent the last few weeks picking apart this quote as well. There are multiple players who try to manage expectations and call out that seasonal content or quality-of-life updates are not going to be a "freak out" moment for players. However, even with a lot of reasons as to why anticipation should be kept in check, there are still plenty of players who would wish for a much bigger announcement...

Why Diablo 4 Needs to Go Big

Some players take the game director's message very seriously and build full wishlists of what would blow BlizzCon out of the water.

Image of a message as posted in the respective Forum thread.

These include a Diablo 1 remaster, a Diablo MMO project, a Diablo 4 expansion with Diablo as the main character, the long-wished-for Witch Doctor return, and so on. There are many opportunities to create waves in the Diablo 4 community, and although Diablo is getting two dedicated panels across the BlizzCon weekend, both are billed as 'Developer Updates' rather than a massive showcase, so we are not expecting an overwhelming amount of detail. Nevertheless, this could be the perfect time for one or two well-thought-through teaser trailers.

There is a clear wish for Diablo 4 to compete in the ARPG world against Path of Exile 2. Players expect more from the game team than just running the same cycles over and over again.

Why Some Fans Are Not Buying It

This leads us to the part of the community that would rather you manage your expectations. We have seen this movie before, so a lot of people are saying not to hold your breath after how the last season went. Plenty of players are voicing that warning, and they might be right.

As Necrobutcher said, "Seeing how things are going with Season 14 and Season 15 PTR, I do not have much hope for anything Diablo related."

Should we expect just The Witcher collab, some new cosmetics, or some quality-of-life updates as headliners? The most disappointing may be getting QoL updates disguised as new shiny features when these features should have worked properly and been well thought through beforehand (War Plans, for example).

The Story of Season 15

Given that many of the seasonal mechanics were kept hidden during the Season 15 PTR, it is worth theorizing about what Blizzard is keeping under wraps. We could get a new chapter in the story, and a new evil could make an appearance. Is it Diablo? Is it Baal? Some players, like Iggi, clearly discussed the random portals appearing, showcasing an underlying system.

Our prediction is right in between. Story teasing would make a lot of sense in terms of timeline. We have all played the Lord of Hatred campaign and want to know what happens next. What are we building towards? Who is our next enemy? Is Season 15 the beginning of that? Or is BlizzCon 2026 the one that will let us in on the next chapter of Diablo 4?

There is a lot to look forward to at BlizzCon, and there is also still time to make your own predictions. What would make you excited enough to return to Diablo 4 for Season 15?

Found a Trace of Echoes in Diablo 4? Do not let it rot in your inventory

Diablo 4's Echoing Hatred is one of its rarest endgame activities, but a single Trace of Echoes can lead to huge amounts of loot, materials, and unique rewards.

The season is coming to an end, and there is one particularly rare piece of endgame content you may want to check off your list: Echoing Hatred. If you have a Trace of Echoes sitting around, now is a great time to use it, because who knows if you will find another one in Season 15.

If you have never heard of it, Echoing Hatred was introduced with the Lord of Hatred expansion as an extremely rare, wave-based endgame activity. Blizzard even described it as a "hyper rare" event because getting inside requires finding a Trace of Echoes through normal loot, and those are really rare.

It is also frustrating because you can only hold one at a time, and if you are really unlucky, you can even go entire seasons without finding one. They did increase the drop rate, but the item remains rare enough.

How Echoing Hatred works

Once you find a Trace of Echoes, take it to Temis in Skovos and use it at the appropriate altar to enter Echoing Hatred. Typically, if you currently have a Trace of Echoes on you, you will have a priority quest that automatically activates and leads you there.

The activity is pretty simple. You have to beat increasingly difficult waves of demons, and the difficulty is based on Pit tiers. As you defeat demons inside the Echoing Hatred, you progress through different tiers, and each of these is equivalent to a Pit Tier. So it is basically some sort of giant Pit where you defeat all the waves and tier bosses in a single room up to your max. If you die, the run is over.

There are also four shrines inside the arena that you can activate:

Each can be activated once, so using them at the right moment can make a big difference during a longer run.

The Rewards Are the Real Reason to Run It

Echoing Hatred rewards so much gear, crafting materials, gold, and more. It will literally shower you with loot.

Treasure Goblins can also appear during the event, and killing them gives you additional Goblin's Plunder on top of the rewards waiting at the end of the run. In other words, if you manage to push far into the event, there is a lot of stuff waiting for you.

There are also a couple of special rewards worth knowing about. Completing Tier 60 or higher for the first time unlocks the amazing Crab with the Knife pet. Yes, Diablo 4 has a tiny crab holding a knife. And yes, you should probably get it.

There Is Also a Secret Reward

Echoing Hatred hides another reward behind a little secret puzzle. If you activate the shrines in the correct order at the corresponding tiers, you can unlock the Howling Mouth of Madness town portal cosmetic.

The required order is:

Protection: Tier 1-9

Artillery: Tier 10-14

Lethal: Tier 15-19

Channeling: Tier 20-24

This is particularly important if you are doing Echoing Hatred for the first time, since the Trace of Echoes is so rare that you probably do not want to accidentally waste your opportunity at the portal reward.

If you are playing in a group, be careful as well. Other players can activate the shrines too, potentially ruining the required order. But you only need one Trace to enter, so you can definitely do it with a full group.

You should also check the vendor at the end, because he often sells good gear that you can use for crafting.

In the end, Echoing Hatred is absolutely worth running if you have managed to find a Trace of Echoes. Even if you already have the portal and the pet, if you were lucky enough to find a Trace of Echoes, it is definitely worth doing before the season ends, just because of the amount of loot it can give you. It is also a good way to carry players that are maybe a bit lower level or are trying to finish some stuff before the end of the season, so if you have a key and you are alone, putting it up in the party finder can also be a good way to help beginner players get a new pet and portal.

Of everything Blizzard could reveal at BlizzCon, a Diablo 1 remaster fits best

No proof yet, but with Blizzard revisiting classics like Diablo 2, a return to where it all began would fit the 30th anniversary perfectly.

As we mentioned in our previous news, Blizzard has already teased that players will "freak out" over what the team has planned for BlizzCon. 2026 is especially interesting, as Diablo also turns 30 this year, so the studio surely has something special waiting for the opening show. And if Blizzard wants a big anniversary reveal to celebrate a proper franchise moment befitting the situation, there is one idea that feels more fitting than anything else, and that is the return of Diablo 1.

The original Diablo opened the doors to Sanctuary back in December 1996. Quite a few players on Reddit, the official Forums, and social media came to that same conclusion/theory, with a Diablo 1 remaster or remake feeling almost inevitable at this point.

Blizzard Is Already Revisiting the Classics

There is a good reason why this feels like more than just wishful thinking, too. Blizzard has clearly been in a mood to revisit its older games. Diablo 2 Resurrected recently got the Warlock, the first new class added to the game in 25 years, which is a much bigger move than simply leaving an old title in maintenance mode. So, if they are willing to add a whole new class to a game from way back then, a modern version of the original no longer sounds like such a crazy idea.

But Nothing Is Confirmed

But none of this is confirmed. There is no leak, no datamine, not even a suspicious bit of breadcrumbs, nothing; so this is pure speculation built on anniversary timing and hope. All we have is Blizzard's own BlizzCon tease, and a lot of excitement for what is to come.

There is, however, also a fair argument to be made against it, since you can already play the original Diablo DRM-free on GOG, which means the game itself is not lost to time and is already available for players who are interested in trying it. An official re-release would still bring it to consoles and put it in front of people who would never think to look for it on GOG, but the need is not quite as urgent as it once was for Diablo 2.

We will find out during BlizzCon on September 12 and 13. Until then, what would you most want to see? Would a Diablo 1 remaster do it for you, or are you hoping Blizzard has something else planned?

Diablo 4's BlizzCon Twitch Drops are already being called underwhelming

Diablo 4's BlizzCon Twitch Drops include three basic weapon cosmetics, but players are already criticizing the rewards compared with Blizzard’s other games.

Yesterday, Blizzard revealed the official BlizzCon 2026 schedule, and the announcement also came with all the Twitch Drops rewards for multiple Blizzard games. The problem is that the Diablo 4 specific rewards are already getting a lot of negative feedback from players who feel that the game is getting the "short end of the stick" compared to Blizzard's other games.

Diablo 4 Twitch Drops

From September 12 through September 15, you can watch participating Diablo content creators on Twitch to unlock three weapon cosmetics:

2 hours: Serrated Skean Dagger

4 hours: Corroded Cleaver Axe

6 hours: Tintinnabulation Mace

You can also subscribe to a participating Diablo creator to receive an exclusive Twitch badge. There is no visual for the badge yet, but we do know what the weapons will look like:

The rewards themselves are fairly simple weapon appearances, with no apparent VFX or particularly elaborate effects. That has become the main point of discussion among Diablo 4 players right now, especially when compared with the rewards Blizzard is offering for games such as WoW or Overwatch during BlizzCon.

Left on the Side of the Road

World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and the other Blizzard games are getting things like mounts, pets, skins, loot boxes, toys, currencies, and other cosmetics as rewards during BlizzCon. Diablo 4, meanwhile, is once again getting a few basic weapon skins.

That comparison has frustrated some players, particularly because Diablo 4 already has plenty of elaborate cosmetics locked behind its paid store. One comment even pointed out that ordinary weapons we dismantle at the Blacksmith can look more interesting than the three BlizzCon rewards. And to be honest, we can only agree.

The timing also has not helped. Blizzard has already teased big Diablo announcements for BlizzCon, and it is a really big event overall, so that makes the relatively modest Twitch rewards feel even more disappointing to some players. The criticism is not even about getting something for free, but about the feeling that Blizzard could have used one of its biggest events of the year to give Diablo 4 players something really nice for once. A pet, a really good-looking skin, a little teaser reward linked to the Witcher collaboration, a mount... anything but another dull weapon skin no one will ever use because it looks just like a basic white weapon you drop at the start of the game.

In any case, these drops will most likely not change, so at least you can claim the three weapons for free by watching for six hours in total. But a lot of players are hoping that one day, Blizzard will put a little bit more effort into the Diablo 4 free rewards, both during Twitch drops and also Season 15 collab rewards.

Diablo gets two main-stage BlizzCon panels, and more is still hidden

Blizzard has just published the official BlizzCon 2026 schedule for all their panels! What is especially interesting to us is that Diablo fans have quite a bit more to watch than what the recently leaked schedule suggested.

So now, instead of one Diablo 4 panel on Saturday, the franchise has two dedicated main-stage sessions planned across the entire weekend. That might not sound like a lot at first, but it does give Diablo 90 minutes on the main stage, before we even count the Opening Ceremony or the extra program taking place elsewhere at the convention.

Main Diablo Panels and Times

If you just want to get a quick overview of when something Diablo-related that is not Immortal is being shown, here are the details:

Opening Ceremony (Stream on YT) on Saturday, September 12 at 10:30am PDT / 7:30pm CEST

Diablo: Developer Update on Saturday at 01:45pm PDT / 10:45pm CEST

The Art of Darkness: Behind Diablo IV's Cinematics at 04:15pm PDT / 01:15am CEST (Legends Stage, not Main Stage)

Diablo: Developer Update on Sunday, September 13 at 11:00am PDT / 8:00pm CEST

Both dedicated Diablo panels last 45 minutes. The Saturday panel will probably introduce all the new things, and the Sunday session gives the developers more time to explain it.

There is one more important detail, though. Both panels are listed under Diablo, not Diablo IV. Blizzard has not shared any statement or said how those 90 minutes will be divided between Diablo 4, Diablo Immortal, Diablo 2: Resurrected, or anything else connected to the franchise's 30th anniversary. In addition to the main panels, Blizzard has also planned a special anniversary session with CD Projekt Red on Sunday, where we will likely hear more about the recently announced Witcher crossover coming to Diablo 4.

Diablo IV is also confirmed to be playable on the show floor. There is also a rumored Switch 2 version of Diablo 4 that could be announced during the show.

Blizzard Might Not Have Shown Us Everything Yet

The schedule also still likely has a number of hidden entries. Blizzard has told viewers to check back after the Opening Ceremony for the fully updated version, so the current schedule is holding a few things back on purpose.

Only the Opening Ceremony, major panels, esports, and a few selected programs are guaranteed to be livestreamed. If you are watching from home, the two main-stage Diablo panels are the safest ones to plan around.

Three Diablo 4 Rewards Are Available During BlizzCon

The new viewership guide also confirms three Diablo 4 weapon rewards. If you watch eligible Diablo streams on Twitch or YouTube between September 12 and 15 for a specific amount of time, you can unlock:

Serrated Skean dagger after 2 hours

Corroded Cleaver axe after 4 hours

Tintinnabulation mace after 6 hours

All you have to do for this is to connect the platform you are watching on to your Battle.net account before you start.

The official schedule definitely looks much better for Diablo fans than the leak made it seem.
Diablo 4 is reviving a ring that players once used to trade and summon Diablo

The Stone of Jordan is returning in Diablo 4 Season 15, and there is a strange history behind this iconic ring and the mystery of who Jordan is.

The best classic items are coming back in Diablo 4 Season 15 as Legacy Uniques. This includes one of the most famous rings in Diablo history: the Stone of Jordan. Anyone who played through Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 definitely heard about this one.

The Diablo 4 version is not going to be completely similar, but the base power remains the same. The ring was rare, easy to trade, and small enough to carry around, and that eventually made it a "currency" for high-value trades.

Stone of Jordan taking one slot of Diablo II's inventory space

And then things got... messy.

The Stone of Jordan became associated with item duplication, with duplicated rings eventually becoming such a problem that Blizzard implemented systems to detect and remove them. But what was really funny about this ring is the fact that Blizzard also found another use for all those unwanted Stones of Jordan.

Über Diablo.

You basically could sell large numbers of Stones of Jordan to vendors to trigger the appearance of Über Diablo, who dropped the Annihilus charm. The ring that had become a currency had effectively been turned into a resource for summoning Diablo himself.

Diablo II's Über Diablo

Not bad for something that was supposed to be a random piece of jewelry.

Diablo 3 Had Its Own Version

The Stone of Jordan returned in Diablo 3, but it did not have such a cool story this time. It remained a powerful legendary ring, eventually gaining bonuses to elemental damage, maximum resources, and damage against elites. Later updates also gave it a unique effect that made elemental damage bonuses use the character's highest elemental damage bonus.

Diablo III's version of the Stone of Jordan as seen on the official Diablo 3 website

And Blizzard clearly knew the item's reputation by then. Its description just said:

"The Stone of Jordan is far more valuable than its appearance would suggest."

This is probably a pretty good summary of its entire Diablo 2 history.

If you dig a bit more, you also realise that Diablo 3 had something called the Cauldron of Jordan during its beta. The idea was that you could use it to sell items for gold without having to return to town. It was sadly removed before launch, but it is an interesting detail worth pointing out.

But Who Is Jordan?

This is the weird part. We do not really know who Jordan is.

There are a few theories around this, and the most popular explanation connects the name to the River Jordan and the twelve memorial stones mentioned in the biblical Book of Joshua.

That is still only a fan theory, though, and Diablo 4 opens another theory. The new Stone of Jordan is described as being crafted using Ammuit Mage Clan craftsmanship, but that does not exactly provide a proper answer to the mystery.

"Nine out of ten appraisers would see a dull stone. Crudely cut. Simply set. But a trained eye might see past the illusion placed by its Ammuit craftsman... and marvel at the wellspring of magic within."

There is also an NPC called Theodosius Jordan, a High Priest who appears as a Super Unique enemy in Diablo 3, but there is no official connection between him and the ring.

And then there is the theory that I personally choose to believe.

Michael Jordan

Six championship rings

If Basketball is not really your thing, this might be a bit confusing to you, and also hard to believe. To make it short, in the NBA, when a team wins the championship, all the players, coaches, etc, obtain a special ring. Michael Jordan won all six of his NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, and now Diablo has a legendary item called the Stone of Jordan. So the theory is just that this is a sort of easter egg referencing Michael Jordan's legendary 6 Championship rings.

Coincidence? Probably. But I am not ruling it out. Maybe there is one dev somewhere inside Blizzard who sneakily pulled it off for this exact reason. As a Basketball fan, I like to believe in this one.

In the end, whatever the real inspiration was, the Stone of Jordan has definitely had a strange journey through the Diablo series. It went from a powerful caster ring to a form of currency, became entangled in one of Diablo 2's biggest duplication problems, was eventually used to summon Über Diablo, evolved into a powerful legendary in Diablo 3, and now it is coming back once again in Diablo 4.

At least this time, we might finally get to see who Jordan really is. I am not against shooting some hoops in Diablo 4, with an Ammuit mage version of Michael Jordan.

And it brings another question: what other items or systems from previous games would you want to see in Diablo 4?

Diablo turns 30 this year, and Blizzard says fans will freak out at BlizzCon

Diablo turns 30, and Game Director Brent Gibson says fans will freak out at BlizzCon. Here is what could be coming.

This year, we are celebrating 30 years of the Diablo franchise at BlizzCon. There is a lot of speculation in regard to what will be shown for Diablo 4 during the opening ceremony.

At the end of February's 30th anniversary spotlight, Diablo IV's Game Director Brent Gibson looked away from the camera and said, "Are we good? Are we clear? Oh my God, they're going to freak out at BlizzCon when we announce…" Then the video cut. (You can see the respective timestamp here, or check out the full video below).

It was a very deliberate choice from Blizzard. It did not tell us anything, except that we should wait for BlizzCon for exciting news. We know they deliberately hold back some announcements for their big opening show, and we know Gibson expects us all to be shocked.

This has triggered many theories and discussions within the community. It will very likely be related to Diablo 4, as we already know Blizzard has more Diablo IV content planned for the next few years.

What We Think Is Coming

We learned with the Season 15 PTR launch that the content of the PTR was not the entirety of what players should expect for the next season. Rebirth and Legacy Uniques were available for testing, but they should only be a small part of the seasonal package that will start a few days after BlizzCon.

We could be looking at a new endgame system, a permanent feature, an anniversary event, or another seasonal mechanic that Blizzard wanted to reveal on stage. But this would be quite normal.

A new roadmap preview for the upcoming months would also make a lot of sense.

Or Blizzard could easily tease the next chapter in the story without announcing a full expansion yet.

We think teasing a new piece of the upcoming story is the closest prediction. We do not believe Blizzard would call out that players will freak out if it were truly just about additional Season 15 news. Gibson's reaction makes it sound like there is another, bigger surprise than the usual season preview.

So, what could Blizzard announce at BlizzCon that would make you "freak out"?

Diablo 4 players say Mythic Seals are too rare, and almost never the one you need

Diablo 4 players say Mythic Seals are far too rare, and many want a guaranteed drop from a Torment 12 Mephisto kill.

If you have been farming Endgame content, you most likely realised by now that Diablo 4's Mythic Seals are pretty rare. So rare, in fact, that some players are starting to question if they are even worth hunting for.

Both on the official Diablo 4 forums and on Reddit, players have been talking about the drop rate, and the general opinion is not good. The best example would be this player quote:

"They are more useless than they are rare. So frankly I dont care if I ever see one."

That is a somewhat different complaint from the usual demand for better drop rates. The argument is not simply that Mythic Seals are too difficult to obtain, but that their rarity does not necessarily match their usefulness.

The Real Problem With Mythic Seals

Mythic Seals can drop from a variety of high-level activities, but most players pretty much have the same, shared experience with them. You can go through hundreds of runs without finding one.

The frustration is so bad that some people literally stopped even looking for them and made their builds without counting on Mythic Seals at all. And to be clear, that is not because they are weak. Mythic Seals can be really strong, giving you extra sockets and unique charm setups that a lot of top-end builds are built around, so they are far from worthless. The real catch is that they are random and very build-specific, so getting one that does not fit what you are playing can feel like a complete waste, especially after grinding so long for it and when compared to Legendary Seals.

So the frustration is less that they are weak, and more that you finally get one and it is not the one you needed.

That is what makes the current situation feel rough. A Mythic Seal is meant to be that prestigious, exciting drop, but when they are this rare and this build-specific, most players either never see one or get one they cannot really use, so the big moment ends up landing flat.

An Interesting Solution

The Diablo 4 community has plenty of ideas when it comes to making the game "better". But one solution suggested seems pretty interesting to us:

If defeating Torment XII Mephisto would guarantee a random Mythic Seal, it would give players both a good reason to reach the highest Torment tier and farm the boss, and at the same time, you would know you get something good out of it.

Of course, a guaranteed Seal would make the reward feel less special, but the argument here is that getting a Mythic Seal is only the first step. You still need the right Seal, useful stats, and a combination that really works for your build.

Unfortunately, Blizzard has not announced any planned changes to Mythic Seal drop rates or their rewards for Season 15, so we will have to see if that ever changes or not.
Season 14 is almost over, so grab these Pandemonium Fragments while you still can

Still grinding Diablo 4 Season 14? Here is how to farm Pandemonium Fragments, including Superior Lair Keys, Corrupted Reaper, and seasonal reputation caches.

Maybe you are already done with Diablo 4 Season 14 since a few weeks. After all, the season is almost over, and everyone is just waiting for Blizzard's next big announcements during BlizzCon since they confirmed that they will reveal more about Season 15 during the event. But if you are still playing Season 14, there are a few things you can still do, because if you are trying to finish upgrading your Mythic gear, you will probably need Pandemonium Fragments.

The problem is that these are not exactly raining from the sky. So if you are still grinding for the final few upgrades, here is exactly what you need to farm.

Your Best Option Is the Corrupted Reaper

The best way to get Pandemonium Fragments is by farming the Corrupted Reaper at the Pandemonium Threshold near Zarbinzet.

You can access him once you reach Torment 1. Defeating the boss and opening its hoard chest gives you Pandemonium Fragments.

At lower Torment Tier, you get between 1 and 2 fragments per chest

At Torment 12, you get 2 per chest

If you picked the Lair Boss War Plan upgrade that gives you a second chest, you can get 4 Fragments per run on T12

So if you are specifically farming Fragments, this is what you want to focus on.

You Will Need Superior Lair Keys

Of course, you need Superior Lair Keys to open the boss chest, meaning you cannot simply sit at the Pandemonium Threshold and farm Corrupted Reaper forever. You will first need to farm the keys by defeating normal and Greater Lair Bosses.

So the basic farming loop is pretty simple:

Farm Lair Bosses → get Superior Lair Keys → use them on Corrupted Reaper → open the chest.

If you are specifically looking to maximize your Fragment farming, make sure you are running the appropriate War Plan upgrade to take advantage of the extra chest.

Do Not Forget Your Seasonal Reputation Caches

As you are farming, make sure to check the seasonal reputation board here and there and pick up your Glints of Hope caches as well.

These have a chance of dropping Pandemonium Fragments. You gain reputation automatically as you play, so when you head back to town to salvage, just make sure you pick those caches up. It is obviously not as reliable as repeatedly farming Corrupted Reaper, but it is an additional way of getting a few fragments on top of your Reaper farming.

Free fragments are still fragments.

So, What Is the Best Farm?

If you are trying to get the last few upgrades before Season 14 ends, the basic strategy is:

Farm normal and Greater Lair Bosses to collect Superior Lair Keys

Head to the Pandemonium Threshold near Zarbinzet

Farm Corrupted Reaper and open the hoard chest

Collect your Glint of Hope reputation caches for additional chances at Fragments when you head back to town

It is not exactly the most exciting activity, but if you are trying to max out those final Mythic upgrades, this is basically what your remaining Season 14 grind looks like. Considering Season 15 is almost here, you only have a limited amount of time left to finish it anyway.

And if you want to learn more about what is next for Diablo 4, you can check out our latest news as well!

Rebirth is coming to Diablo 4, so can we have these 3 features next?

Set Dungeons, smarter pets, and a goblin-stuffed treasure vault. Three older Diablo ideas that would fit right into Diablo 4.

Rebirth is coming to Diablo 4 with Season 15, assuming the feature will be part of the next season without any big changes since PTR or to the system as we know it in general. Instead of creating another character from zero, you will be able to move an Eternal character into the Seasonal Realm and reset it to Level 1, keeping its name, appearance, cosmetic preferences, and total time played (if it still works like it did in Diablo 3).

It is an idea that longtime players will naturally recognize right away from Diablo 3. With Legacy Uniques returning as well, and the Armory and Horadric Cube already adding more pieces of older Diablo games into Diablo IV, Blizzard is clearly happy to look back at the franchise and see which old feature could still make sense.

So, if that door is already open, here are three more classic Diablo features we would happily take.

Talisman Sets Could Unlock Their Own Mastery Dungeons

Diablo 3 Set Dungeons were fixed challenges built around individual class sets. Once you equipped all pieces of a set, you could track down the related dungeon and complete objectives based on how that set worked. Mastering a Set Dungeon also came with exclusive cosmetic rewards.

Set Dungeon entry image via Diablo Fandom wiki

They had their annoying moments, especially when an objective worked against the way you normally played the build. But the main idea was pretty good. Instead of only collecting a set for more power, you were asked to prove that you understood how it worked.

Diablo 4 could adapt that idea through the Talisman system. Completing a full Set of charms could unlock a dedicated Mastery Dungeon built around its main effects. For example, a standard clear could grant an achievement or title, with full mastery rewarding something more exciting, such as wings, a portal skin, mount armor, or even a pet.

The important part would be keeping the rewards cosmetic. Nobody should ever feel like they need to master one of these dungeons for a best-in-slot charm. It should just be a fun side challenge for anyone who enjoys the set or wants something new to collect.

The Season 15 PTR already tested Challenge Dungeons, so part of the foundation could even be there, at least partially. On the PTR, those were selectable boss encounters rather than build tests, and they only had one boss room. But Blizzard also confirmed that the finished Season 15 content will be different from what appeared on the PTR, so this is all just a fun comparison for now.

Let Our Pets Take Care of the Salvage Pile

Diablo 4 pets already collect gold and materials, but Diablo 3 eventually gave them another very useful job. Through the Altar of Rites (which was added in later seasons), pets could pick up and automatically salvage common, magic, and rare items.

Altar of Rites interface in Diablo 3

Copying that feature exactly would not do all that much in Diablo 4. Lower-quality equipment already converts into materials once you reach Torment. But Blizzard could take the same idea and instead connect pet salvage directly to the loot filter.

If your filter hides an item, your pet could collect and salvage it after a short delay. Uniques and Mythics should always be protected, and Legendary salvage would need to be something you explicitly enable.

Besides just saving you from another trip to sort through the loot pile, this could also help with all those hidden items that still appear on the map and minimap. The loot filter would feel much more complete if our pets cleaned up everything we already told the game we did not want.

It would not be the biggest "feature announcement" in the world, but it is still something that most players would likely appreciate every time they play.

Give the Horadric Cube Its Own Puzzle Ring Portal

Diablo 3 had a very cool feature: it gave unwanted Puzzle Rings one of the best second lives an item could ask for. Placing one by itself into Kanai's Cube destroyed the ring and opened a portal to the Vault, a treasure realm full of gold, goblins, and Greed herself. Even better: if you used an Ancient or Primal Puzzle Ring, it would open the Ancient Vault instead, filling the realm with even more goblins and much better rewards.

Diablo 4 now has its own Horadric Cube, as well as six special Treasure Goblin variants that are already running around Sanctuary. It would feel like the right home for a new version of this Puzzle Ring portal idea.

A regular Puzzle Ring could open the Vault, with an Ancestral version unlocking a harder and more rewarding version. Blizzard could fill it with waves of different goblins before ending the run with Greed, Avarice, or even a new boss specifically created for the realm.

This would not need to interfere with the secret cow-level either. It could just be a separate, repeatable treasure realm and a fun use for a rare item that you have to sacrifice to enter.

The Vault, Greed's treasure realm in Diablo 3

None of these features is supposed to reinvent the Diablo 4 endgame, which is the whole point. One gives Talisman sets a new purpose, one makes the loot filter even more useful (in combination with pets), and one lets us throw a ring into the Cube in exchange for an unreasonable number of goblins. All in the name of simple, good fun.

Which one would you bring back first? Or would you rather see a completely different feature from older Diablo games come back?

Season 14 ends soon and the Greystone pet goes with it. Reach Season Rank 6 and beat the Corrupted Reaper on Torment 6 to claim it in time.

Season 14 of Diablo 4 is ending soon, and your opportunity to get the Greyhound pet ends with it, too. At this time, there are only two and a half weeks left before Season 14 ends on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, if we are to believe the Reliquary's end time. This is your last chance to complete the season ranks you need to get your rewards. Especially the Greystone pet. After that, you will not be able to unlock this specific season cosmetic pet anymore. You may regret it.

How to Unlock the Greystone Pet

The pet is unlocked through the Season of Death Awakening's Rank 6 rewards. Your journey to unlocking the pet is fairly simple and worth the short time investment in the game, even if you have not played this season yet or stopped early. The sixth chapter requires you to defeat the Corrupted Reaper seasonal boss on Torment VI difficulty.

Reaching Torment VI in Diablo 4 is not very hard, but it does require you to push your build, optimize, and get better gear.
Diablo 4 might only get an hour at BlizzCon, but that is plenty to drop something big

A rumored BlizzCon 2026 schedule gives Diablo 4 a single hour on Saturday. Could Blizzard still pull off a big reveal in that time?

You probably already saw the rumored BlizzCon 2026 schedule that was shared on Reddit a few days ago. If it is true, it means that Diablo 4 will not be getting nearly as much time as some of Blizzard's other games. That does not automatically mean it is bad news, of course, but you might want to get your expectations down when it comes to Diablo 4.

The schedule has not been confirmed by Blizzard, so take all of this with a grain of salt. But if the leak is accurate, Diablo 4 appears to have just one dedicated session on Saturday afternoon:

Diablo 4: What's Next

Saturday, 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM

BlizzCon Schedule Leak via Reddit

That is basically an hour. Compared to the amount of Warcraft content expected, Diablo 4 looks like a very small part of the event. Of course, an hour is still a long time to fill, but it might mean that there is not that much planned for the game.

So What Could Blizzard Show?

We already know Blizzard is holding back parts of Season 15 for BlizzCon, and the Witcher collaboration is also going to get details at the event.

So at minimum, there are two things Blizzard could cover in that hour. If each of those takes 30 minutes, it pretty much fills the event already. The safe bet would be a Season 15 reveal. Filling in what was not included in the PTR. That could mean the seasonal mechanic, new features, changes to systems compared to the PTR, and that is it.

For the Witcher crossover, we know about the confirmed Geralt-inspired skin linked to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past purchase, but Blizzard has said more details are coming at BlizzCon. But they could just reveal a simple Witcher-themed Reliquary, and that would not take much time.

An hour-long "What's Next" presentation could easily fit something bigger than a season reveal, but for now, there is really no confirmation on that. The same hour could be used for a Season 15 trailer, a look at the Witcher collaboration, multiple small announcements, or one big expansion reveal. The rumored schedule does not tell us much.

Other Games With Larger Presence

Even if Diablo only gets a very small section this year, BlizzCon still looks very interesting. You have Warcraft, Overwatch, and Hearthstone, and the more surprising part is StarCraft! There were already rumors not long ago about a new StarCraft game, so this might be an official reveal for it!

Either way, for now there is nothing confirmed, and we do not even know if this schedule is real. And if the leak is accurate, the titles and time slots do not tell us exactly what will be shown. Blizzard could spend ten minutes on Season 15, another ten on The Witcher, and then casually drop the next expansion trailer on everyone.

Everything is still possible, but we will only find out on September 12!

Could Overland Ambushes secretly be part of Diablo 4's upcoming Witcher crossover?

Blizzard and CD Projekt Red are bringing The Witcher to Diablo 4, but could Season 15's Overland Ambush be hiding a Witcher-themed surprise?

The Witcher is coming to Diablo 4, and Blizzard is keeping the interesting part secret.

You probably heard of it already. During Gamescom, Blizzard and CD Projekt Red announced that they will bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered to Battle.net. We also know that anyone who buys The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past on the Blizzard launcher will receive a Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo 4. And both Blizzard and CDPR also confirmed that they will reveal more details at BlizzCon in September, so there is definitely more to it than just a new Geralt skin.

What Does The Witcher Have to Do With Monster Hunting?

If you never played The Witcher, the connection might not directly make sense, but you have to remember that Geralt is not just a swordsman. He is a Witcher, and Witchers are basically professional monster hunters.

In The Witcher 3, you spend a lot of time traveling through the open world and tracking down monsters. In the PTR, it was a rather simple and not that exciting feature. A powerful demon begins hunting you, a warning shows that you are about to become prey, and then you have 30 seconds to either flee or fight.

That is basically all Blizzard has shown us.

But what if this system is more than just a random demon encounter?

What if Blizzard takes the basic Overland Ambush idea and turns it into a Witcher-themed event?

Instead of simply being attacked by another demon, imagine hunting down powerful monsters across Sanctuary, tracking them through the open world and taking them on for special rewards. This idea was shared on Reddit by some players, and it does make sense in a way. It would fit The Witcher's identity extremely well and still make perfect sense in Diablo 4. And for once, we would have a really cool event instead of just getting a themed Reliquary and paid skins for the occasion.

But There Is a Big "If"

There is no evidence that the Overland Ambush feature has anything to do with The Witcher. The Season 15 PTR notes never mention CD Projekt Red or The Witcher, and the official crossover announcement only confirms the Geralt skin and upcoming details at BlizzCon. So, it is still all just speculation.

The collaboration could end up being nothing more than a skin and some other cosmetics. Or Blizzard could have a proper in-game event planned. Maybe Blizzard has been testing the foundation for a monster-hunting event without telling us. Or it might not be related at all.

The only thing that is 100% sure is that we will find out at BlizzCon, so get ready for September!

Your spare Diablo 4 Mythic amulet could be hiding a max-rank Codex upgrade

Before you recycle that unwanted amulet, the Horadric Cube can give it one more job. Just watch your Kullean Prisms.

Finding a Mythic Unique amulet in Diablo 4 that your build does not need is usually a little disappointing. But before you recycle or get rid of it, there is a strange way to turn it into a guaranteed Codex upgrade.

There is a catch, of course. You will need Kullean Tuning Prisms for this, and potentially quite a few of them. As this is the end of a season, however, why not make use of all that currency you farmed, right?

The Strange Icon on a Mythic Unique

Inspiration for this article came from a post on the Diablo 4 subreddit by user Present_Entrance_233, who noticed that a Mythic Locran's Talisman in their stash had the icon for an available Codex of Power upgrade.

That was a little unusual, because Unique items do not normally give you any upgrade to Aspects when salvaged. This amulet, however, had received an extra Legendary Aspect through Horadric Cube Transfiguration with a Kullean Tuning Prism.

After salvaging the Locran's Talisman to test what would happen, the player realized that the added Aspect power improved its respective maximum rank in the Codex.

How The Cube Trick Works

Utility aspects can be imprinted onto a modifiable amulet using a Kullean Tuning Prism, and if you get one rolled at max value (a Mythic amulet guarantees that max roll), you can then salvage the amulet and your Codex of Power picks up the maxed version of that aspect. So instead of hoping to find a perfectly rolled aspect out in the world of Sanctuary, you basically craft one and add it directly to your Codex.

Mythic Uniques receive maximum rolls on anything added through Enchanting, Tempering, or Transfiguration. This gives you a rather expensive way to finish a missing Utility Aspect in Diablo 4:

Place a Mythic Unique amulet into the Horadric Cube (has to be Mythic so the power roll is maxed out).

Transfigure it with a Kullean Tuning Prism.

Keep going until it gains the Utility Aspect you want.

Check for the Codex upgrade icon, then salvage the amulet.

Kullean Tuning Prisms only work on amulets and make use of the Utility Aspect pool, so this cannot max every Aspect in your build, but only a selected few.

It is also not a exactly budget-friendly farming method, as Tuning Prisms (especially the Kullean ones) are valuable and very rare, and every failed roll costs another one. So make sure you are aware of the cost first, before deciding to use a good Mythic on this method.

The cheaper route most veteran Diablo 4 players suggest instead is to just upgrade your spare ancestral rares to legendary in the Cube to collect aspects, or grab utility aspect caches from the mercenary vendor, since both are much easier on your materials.

Nevertheless, it is an interesting little interaction to remember in case there is one stubborn Utility Aspect that refuses to drop for you. Just make sure the Codex icon is there before your Mythic meets the salvage hammer, and only do it if you have enough Prisms to spare, or are not too fussed about spending the few you have before the end of the season.

One Diablo 4 Druid cleared Tower 150 in under two minutes, and no other class is even close

Diablo 4 Season 14 may be getting pretty silent as we wait for Blizzard to reveal what is coming next during BlizzCon, but there is still some absolutely ridiculous stuff happening on the leaderboards.

And right now, Druids are having a very good time in the Tower. Or well... one Druid is.

Because yes, there is one Druid player who has managed to clear Tower 150 in just 1 minute and 51 seconds, and the gap between this run and the rest of the leaderboard is kind of hilarious. The fastest non-Druid run currently sits at 5 minutes and 22 seconds, meaning the best Druid is around four minutes ahead of the other Diablo IV classes.

It Is Not Just One Lucky Player

The Tower leaderboard is getting silly and completely out of hand at this point.

The current top 50 Tower 150 runs are all from Druids, with times from 1:51 up to around 3:29. The second-fastest Druid is still only at 1:57, and a lot of the others are around 2:01 to 2:10.

Then you get to the other classes. The fastest Sorcerer is at 5:22, the Barbarian is currently at 5:59, and the others are so far behind they are not even worth mentioning right now.

So yes, there is a bit of a gap.

What is particularly funny is that the top Druid build does not even look like the kind of straightforward "press one button and everything dies" setup you might expect. The build is using Lightning Storm alongside skills such as Storm Strike, Grizzly Rage, Trample, Debilitating Roar, and Hurricane.

I am not going to pretend I know enough about high-end Druid theorycrafting to explain exactly why this particular setup is deleting the Tower so quickly, but the results speak for themselves. Of course, these are leaderboard results, not an official Blizzard ranking of which class is "the best." Still, when one class is clearing the highest Tower tier in under two minutes while the closest non-Druid needs over five minutes, it is hard to ignore it.

With Season 14 slowly winding down and everyone waiting to see what Blizzard has planned for Season 15, this might be one of the more entertaining ways to spend the final weeks of the season.

And if you are a Druid player, well... apparently Sanctuary belongs to you right now.

30 years of Diablo music in 90 minutes, and you can finally listen to all of it

Blizzard has released the full Diablo: The Infernal Symphony 30th anniversary concert to stream on Spotify and all major platforms.

If you have been interested in listening to the Diablo 30th anniversary concert but did not get the chance to do so in person earlier this year, you finally have a way to experience it now. Blizzard has released Diablo: The Infernal Symphony, which is the full live recording of the concert, to stream on Spotify and all other known music platforms. So, even if you were not one of the lucky people who visited the concert room in London, you can now hear the whole thing from start to finish, right from the comfort of your home.

The recording arrives almost three months after the concert took place at London’s Royal Festival Hall on June 6. It was the official celebration of Diablo’s 30th anniversary and opened the Game Music Festival 2026, which made it a special night for anyone who grew up with the series and its music.

You can find links to every available platform on the official listening page.

Thirty Years of Diablo Music In One Recording

The Infernal Symphony concert is split into 8 different music pieces from all five Diablo games. It starts with the original game and works its way through the history of Sanctuary, all the way to the current expansion of Diablo 4, Lord of Hatred. This makes it very special, as it is from across the entire franchise, and also the first time that music from all Diablo games was performed on stage together, so it really was a celebration of the whole series rather than just the newest entry.

Again, what is important to note here is that this is not just a collection of separate tracks from each soundtrack. The music was rearranged into one larger concert piece by Ignacy Wojciechowski, with the London Mozart Players, Hertfordshire Chorus, and conductor Marek Wroniszewski bringing it to life.

There were some familiar faces from Blizzard itself, with lead composer Ted Reedy and music director Derek Duke appearing as special guests. And original soloists from Diablo 4's Lord of Hatred joined the stage too.

Streaming Now, With More Hopefully to Come

When the concert was first announced, the organizers said they did not know if an online broadcast would be possible. Music licensing, additional resources, and the work required to record the event all made a stream uncertain. A few months later, we did not just get a short video or selected tracks, but the complete concert as a live album. That is a much better outcome for anyone who could not attend the London performance!

The concert is currently only available to stream. However, Blizzard's other Diablo soundtracks are already on Bandcamp, so there is a good chance the Infernal Symphony joins them there in the future for anyone who wants to own a copy. Blizzard also put out a vinyl box set for the World of Warcraft 20th anniversary concert, so it is not that far-fetched to hope that this one gets similar releases.

Either way, one of the best celebrations of Diablo's 30 years is now yours to listen to, wherever you stream your music.

The Diablo 4 loot filter is great, but the minimap kind of ruins it

The Diablo 4 loot filter hides unwanted drops, but their icons still clutter the minimap. Here is why that needs to change.

Diablo 4's Loot Filter is one of the best quality-of-life additions the game has had, arriving with Lord of Hatred. No one disagrees with that.

After years of checking far too much gear, being able to hide unwanted drops makes farming way more fun and much less chaotic. Blizzard's Diablo IV Loot Filter can hide, show, or recolor gear based on the rules you create in-game, which gives you much more control over what gets your attention.

There is, however, one part that keeps irritating players. Filtered gear can still leave an icon on the minimap...

The Minimap Keeps Sending Players Backwards

You run a dungeon, clear a boss or event, move on, and then either after or even as you fight through hordes of monsters and demons, you glance at the minimap. There is still a legendary or Unique icon behind you in some place you passed earlier on the map, so naturally, you turn around to check it... But there is nothing there for you to pick up. The item itself was hidden by your filter, but the minimap did not get the message.

With one or two drops, this is annoying but not a big deal. When a full pile of loot hits the floor, however, it becomes genuinely confusing. Your minimap fills with icons, and you can no longer tell if you missed something useful or if every marker relates to gear you already told the game to hide via Loot Filter.

The worst of it is that the more intricate your filter becomes, the worse this feels. And it has been bothering many other players too, with the same complaint being shared on both Reddit and the official Diablo 4 forums.

Hidden Loot Should Stay Hidden

The only fair argument for keeping those icons is that they might serve as a safety net. If you made a mistake setting up your filter, the minimap icons at least tell you an item dropped. But Diablo 4 already lets you set a keybind to toggle the filter on and off for whenever you want to check what was left behind.

And, in all honesty, hidden should just mean hidden. If we tell the game to hide a drop, it should not keep lingering on the map either. But at the very least, this should be a choice. The game could let us decide if filtered items stay visible on the minimap, or let the Hide rule remove their map icons too. Players who want the extra reminder can then choose to keep it. Everyone else gets a minimap that only reflects loot they can see and pick up.

The Loot Filter itself is great, helpful, and one of the best additions to Diablo 4. As a system, it does not need to be fixed or rebuilt; it just needs to finish the job. With Season 15 and a new patch arriving in mid-September, there is a real chance this gets some attention, and it would be an easy win for Blizzard and the community. If you tell Diablo 4 to hide a drop, the map should not keep showing it or asking you to run back and check it anyway.

The end of a season is the perfect time to skip the tier list and play something fun instead!

Tired of playing the same meta builds? Here are a few fun off-meta Diablo 4 builds worth trying before Season 14 ends, from Minion Necro to Auradin.

Over and over again, everyone ends up playing the same build. Every season, you check different tier lists, and you notice the couple of builds that come out on top as S-Tier, and this will be the direction you take. But a handful of players prefer it to be fun.

Following Tier Lists makes sense if your only goal is to push the highest possible Pit tier or kill bosses as quickly as the game allows in T12. But there is a pretty obvious downside. You can end up spending an entire season playing a build you do not really enjoy just because it happens to be at the top of a spreadsheet.

The final weeks of a season are probably the best time to stop doing that.

Your character is already geared, you have nothing to lose by experimenting, and Season 15 is close enough that there is little reason to spend your remaining time worrying about pushing high pit tiers. So instead of another list of the strongest builds in Season 14, here are some off-meta builds that players have been having a genuinely good time with. They are not necessarily going to compete with the very best meta builds, and that is not really the point. These are builds to try because they are different, satisfying, or simply a lot of fun to play.

Minion Necromancer

Minion Necromancer is one of those builds that can feel completely different depending on what you are trying to get out of it.

If your goal is to push the absolute highest Torment tiers, there are obviously stronger options. But if your goal is to watch an army of undead tear through Sanctuary as you sit back and drink some tea, it remains one of the most satisfying ways to play Necromancer.

People have been taking their Minion Necros into the higher Torment tiers without being able to push much further, but still sticking with the build because it is simply fun to play.

And that is a perfectly good reason to play it.

Minion builds are particularly nice for the end of a season because you do not necessarily need to squeeze every last point of damage out of your character to enjoy what makes the build work. It is a good time to embrace the army of undead and finally be a true Necromancer.

Auradin Paladin

If you want something that feels completely different from the usual Paladin options, Auradin is one of the more interesting choices. The basic idea remains as simple as it was when the build was meta back then. You just walk around and let your aura do a lot of the work. Just this time you do need to push a few buttons here and there.

You are basically turning your character into a walking death zone. There is no complicated rotation or anything like that.

You should still be able to comfortably clear Torment XII with the build! That is more than enough reason to give it a shot if you have a Paladin sitting around and want something that does not feel like the standard meta setup.

Shadow Grenade Rogue

Rogue players have plenty of strong options this season, but Shadow Grenade is a fun alternative if you have already played over and over again the same Death Trap, Rapid Fire, etc.

It is fast, explosive, and has that very Rogue combination of movement and burst damage that makes the class so enjoyable in the first place.

It is not going to be the build you pick if you are trying to prove something on the leaderboard. Shadow Grenade should let you clear Torment XII, but you might need to drop back to Torment XI or X for some of the bosses.

And that is fine.

One of the nice things about playing an off-meta build this late in a season is that you can simply choose the difficulty where the build feels good. You do not have to force yourself into content where every fight becomes a ten-minute struggle just to say you technically cleared it.

Lightning Blizzard Sorcerer

Blizzard usually goes with a very specific Sorcerer build, but Lightning Blizzard gives the skill a different feeling. The nice thing here is not necessarily raw power. It is the gameplay. You can move around, evade through enemies, and keep throwing Blizzard after Blizzard, and at the same time, the lightning-based effects do their thing.

It is really fun if you like Sorcerer's mobility but do not want to spend the final weeks of Season 14 playing whatever build happens to have the highest numbers.

Much like Shadow Grenade Rogue, you can get through Torment XII with Lightning Blizzard before dropping the difficulty a level or two for bosses. So if you are already sitting on a geared Sorcerer and have been thinking about trying something weird before the season ends, this is exactly the kind of build the final weeks are made for.

Hellion Sting Warlock

Warlock did not get a lot of attention this season, but he still has some very fun builds. Hellion Sting is one of the alternatives if you are looking for something different.

It is capable of pushing respectable Pit levels without requiring you to follow the standard Warlock builds, and that makes it a particularly good candidate for some late-season experimentation.

Some Hellion Sting builds can take you all the way to Pit 120, and this is more than enough to demonstrate that "off-meta" does not necessarily mean "completely useless."

And that is really the distinction worth making here.

You do not need a build to be capable of clearing the highest possible Pit tier for it to be worth playing. If it can comfortably handle the content you enjoy and has a gameplay you like, it has already done its job.

Fire Abaddon Warlock

If Hellion Sting is not enough fire power for you, Fire Abaddon is another Warlock build worth experimenting with. What is particularly interesting about this one is that players have cleared Pit 120 without even having Best-in-Slot gear.

That is not necessarily proof that the build is secretly capable of taking over the meta, but it does make it an attractive option for anyone who already has the pieces needed to put it together. Do not spend half your remaining season trying to force your character into a completely different build just because someone says it might have a higher theoretical ceiling. If you have the gear sitting in your stash, give Fire Abaddon a shot and see how far you can take it.

You might end up with a build that performs considerably better than expected.

Hulkborn Spiritborn

And finally, we have the Hulkborn Spiritborn.

Sometimes you do not need a complicated explanation for why a build is worth trying.

It is fun. That is it.

Spiritborn already has a huge variety of ways to build the class, and Hulkborn is one of those builds that is particularly satisfying if what you want from the game is to hit things very, very hard. It is not the build I would recommend to someone asking for the single strongest Spiritborn build of Season 14. But it is a great candidate for anyone who has a pile of Spiritborn gear gathering dust and wants to spend the final weeks of the season doing something different.

At this point in the season, you have nothing to prove. Make the big guy build. Punch things. See how far it goes.

Other Fun Options

And if the previous ones are not for you, here are a few other very good non-meta builds that you probably already heard of from previous seasons, but that remain extremely fun to play:

Landslide Earth Druid

Hellfire Profane Sentinel Warlock

Zealot's Oath Zenith Paladin

Static Field Sorcerer

Shred Druid

Play What Is Fun Before the Reset

This is the part of seasonal Diablo that is easy to forget.

Tier lists are useful. They tell you which builds are the most efficient for a particular goal, like pushing the Pit, farming, speed-running, or killing bosses. But they do not tell you which build you are going to enjoy playing for another few hours.

And that is why the final weeks of a season are such a good time to experiment.

You do not have to commit to one of these builds for the rest of the season. You do not even have to push it as far as your main character. Throw together a build, run some Pits, mess around with the skills, and see how fun it is. Maybe you will discover that your "terrible" off-meta build is in reality your favorite of the season.

And if it is not, well, Season 15 is almost here anyway.

The meta will change, the tier lists will be rewritten, and everyone will once again be told what five builds they are supposed to play.

Until then, you might as well play something fun.

The Witcher 3 is coming to Battle.net, and Geralt is making his way to Diablo 4. Here is what we know about the new Blizzard and CD Projekt Red crossover.

Diablo 4 definitely has a lot of monsters, and it seems like Geralt of Rivia is coming to Sanctuary to help out.

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, CD Projekt Red revealed their upcoming remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as well as a new trailer for the Songs of the Past Expansion. And shortly after, CDPR and Blizzard announced a new partnership that will bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered and Songs of the Past to Battle.net, including a special crossover with Diablo 4.

Yes, you read that right. The Witcher is coming to Diablo!

Geralt Is Heading to Sanctuary

The Diablo 4 part of the announcement is pretty simple for now, but it is also the part we are most interested in.

Sadly, it is Blizzard, so nothing comes for free. Anyone who buys The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past on Battle.net will receive access to a Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo 4. So in a way, the skin is free, but you still have to spend money for the game first, even if you already own the base game on another platform. Keep in mind that it is the expansion that grants you the free skin, and not the remastered base game alone.

That is about all Blizzard and CDPR are willing to say for now.

We do not know exactly what the skin looks like yet either. Blizzard says the teams have been working together to create something special for fans of both games, with more details coming at BlizzCon in September. CDPR will attend the convention as well, so more will be shared at that moment.

Considering Geralt already spends his days hunting monsters, curses, demons, and things that really should not be alive, Sanctuary seems like a pretty natural second career.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered Launches in September

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered launches on September 29, 2026, with upgraded visuals, performance, combat, traversal, monster behavior, Witcher Signs, mounts, the skill tree, transmogrification, photo mode, finishers, and more.

The Battle.net version includes both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as well.

You can already pre-purchase the remastered version, and you can also wishlist the Songs of the Past Expansion.

BlizzCon Is Becoming Even More Interesting

We already knew that Blizzard is holding back some Season 15 information for BlizzCon, and now we are being told that the Witcher crossover will also get more details there. So sometime in September, we are apparently going to find out exactly what Geralt looks like when he chases monsters in Sanctuary!

For now though, that is all we have. There is no info about any Reliquary specific to The Witcher or any other skins such as Ciri, Yennefer, or Triss in Diablo 4. You will have to wait a few more weeks before we learn more!

Diablo 4 on Switch 2 reportedly releases September 15, with pre-orders opening during BlizzCon

According to a known leaker, the Diablo 4 Switch 2 port arrives September 15, with pre-orders opening September 12 as BlizzCon begins.

Diablo 4 could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 soon! According to Dealabs leaker billbil-kun, the Switch 2 console port is reportedly launching on September 15, 2026, with pre-orders going live a few days earlier on September 12. So far, the leaker has had a pretty strong track record when it comes to unannounced ports, but nothing has been confirmed by Blizzard or Nintendo yet.

Nevertheless, if this leak turns out to be true, the timing would line up perfectly with BlizzCon 2026, which happens on September 12 and 13. This means the Switch 2 reveal would likely happen during the opening day ceremony, which is usually where big announcements are held, right on the BlizzCon stage. If pre-orders are going live right after, it would make sense that the game could be arriving just days later. Of course, there is also a chance that the reveal comes even sooner, since some reporting flags Gamescom as a possible announcement moment. However, nothing of the sort happened during ONL (Gamescom Opening Night Live), so this rumor is likely not going to hold.

Both Expansions Are Reportedly Included

The Switch 2 version would not be limited to just the base game. According to the report, the Age of Hatred Collection includes Diablo IV and both of its expansions:

Vessel of Hatred

Lord of Hatred

The full collection will reportedly cost $69.99 in the US, £62.99 in the UK, and €69.99 in Europe. That would give Switch 2 players the full current Diablo 4 package in one single purchase. The price itself is quite high, especially if you already own the game on PC or another Console, but for players who look forward to playing on handheld, it might just be worth it.

The Boxed Edition Has No Game Card

Another caveat that the leak mentioned is that the physical release is just a code in a box, rather than a cartridge or a Game-Key Card. So the boxed version would come with a download code inside the case instead of the game on a card, which is not what most people expect when they buy a physical copy.

So either way, the game itself will have to be downloaded. Collectors who were hoping to keep the full game on a physical card will want to know that before buying Diablo 4 on Nintendo Switch 2.

Early Ratings Already Mentioned Switch 2

Naturally, this is not the first talk of Diablo 4 coming to Nintendo hardware. References to this go back as far as spring 2026, well before much else was known about the console's upcoming games. Diablo 4 previously appeared in classification listings from Indonesia and Taiwan, with the Taiwanese listing naming Nintendo Switch 2 as a platform for Lord of Hatred.

Those ratings do support the existence of the port, but they did not provide the September 15 release date or September 12 pre-order date info. Those details are still quite new and come from the latest Dealabs report.

A while ago, former Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson also discussed the possibility in 2025 in a YouTube interview with Danny Peña. Back then, he said the Switch 2 had enough power to run Diablo 4, but that live-service support on Nintendo platforms had been more difficult in the past. If this port is real though, Blizzard appears to have found a way through that problem.

Can We Expect Any Official Confirmation Soon?

Until Blizzard or Nintendo says something, nothing is official. Gamescom did not have any related announcement during the opening stream, but BlizzCon fits the reported schedule much more closely anyway.

If the dates are accurate, pre-orders will open on September 12, before Diablo 4 arrives on Switch 2 just three days later. In any case, we will keep you updated as soon as Blizzard or Nintendo confirms the release. In the meantime, here is everything we know so far about Diablo 4 Season 15.

What we know, what we do not, and what we expect for Diablo 4 Season 15

Diablo 4 Season 15 might be getting a huge update! A lot of content is already confirmed, but Blizzard is saving the best reveals for BlizzCon.

Season 14 is coming to an end, Season 15 is getting closer, and thanks to the 3.2 PTR that we got to test earlier this month, we already have a pretty good idea of what Blizzard is bringing to Diablo 4 next. But there is one important detail that some people might forget! Blizzard deliberately held part of Season 15 back from the PTR. The developers confirmed that more details will be revealed at BlizzCon, meaning the PTR was never meant to show the full Season 15 content.

So even if we know quite a lot about the systems and items coming with the next season, there is still a large piece of the puzzle missing.

This is why we decided to go over everything we know so far, what Blizzard is still keeping secret, and what we could see revealed at BlizzCon.

What We Know About Season 15

The 3.2 PTR introduced a few new systems and changes that are expected to arrive with Season 15. Some details can still change before launch, but these are the features Blizzard has officially shown us so far.

Soul Splinters

The biggest new system is Soul Splinters, a new type of socketable item that gives your character a powerful bonus but with a drawback. Soul Splinters can be placed into jewelry and come in five quality tiers, from Common all the way up to Unique. They can also be upgraded through the Horadric Cube.

The interesting part is that every Splinter comes with a trade-off. For example, the Splinter of Anguish increases Critical Strike Chance and Attack Speed, but also increases Primary Resource costs. The Splinter of Pain gives a huge amount of Damage Reduction bonus, but it reduces Movement Speed, and the Splinter of Hellfire can increase your damage at the cost of losing all Critical Strike Chance.

That makes Soul Splinters more than just another source of free power. Depending on the final numbers, choosing the right Splinter could become an important part of building your character around a new specific build.

It is particularly interesting for players willing to take a risk for more power.

Legacy Uniques in Diablo 4

Nine iconic items from previous Diablo games are being reworked for Diablo 4, including Stone of Jordan, Leoric's Crown, Nemesis Bracers, and Messerschmidt's Reaver.

These are not simply old effects copied into Diablo 4, either. Blizzard has adapted their powers to fit the current game, and the items are being added as permanent uniques, so this means that they will not disappear when Season 15 ends.

The full list includes:

Leoric's Crown

Nemesis Bracers

Stone of Jordan

Squirt's Blouse

Arioc's Needle

Henri's Perquisition

In-Geom

The Furnace

Messerschmidt's Reaver

Not all of them are available to every class, so some could end up having a much bigger impact on the Season 15 meta than others. You should particularly keep an eye on Leroic's Crown.

Mythic Item Changes

Mythic Uniques are also getting some of the biggest changes we have seen to the system in quite some time. The most interesting addition is a new Horadric Cube recipe that allows you to directly upgrade an existing Unique into its Mythic version.

The important part is that this is a 1:1 transfer. If you have a Unique with the exact Affixes, Tempering, and Masterworking you want, upgrading it to a Mythic will preserve those modifications instead of giving you a completely different roll.

It is more expensive than the other Mythic crafting options, but it removes a huge part of the randomness involved in getting the item you really want.

Mythic crafting through the Jeweler and Blacksmith will not have the crafted tag, but those created through the cube will. Every Mythic can now also be found as a regular Unique version. This means some of Diablo 4's most important Mythic items should become available earlier in a character's progression.

After the changes made to Mythics in Season 14, this is probably one of Season 15's most important follow-up updates!

New Uniques and Mythic Charms

The Talisman system is also getting expanded.

Season 15 will introduce 16 new Unique Charms based on existing Uniques that did not previously have Charm versions. Eight of the 10 Legacy Uniques will also receive their own Charms.

Unique Charms can now also drop as Mythic Unique Charms. These are much rarer versions with maxed-out stats and a significantly stronger Unique effect. There is no way to craft or target-farm them, though, so getting one will come down to luck.

The Rebirth System

<img src="https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-rebirth-c67181698e49-680.webp" srcset="https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-rebirth-c67181698e49-170.webp 170w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-rebirth-c67181698e49-340.webp 340w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-rebirth-c67181698e49-680.webp 680w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-rebirth-c67181698e49-960.webp 960w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-rebirth-c67181698e49-1360.webp 1360w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-rebirth-c67181698e49-1920.webp 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 760px) calc(100vw - 48px), 680px" width="1920" height="1080" alt="Diablo 4 Rebirth System character creation login screen example. You can increase the difficulty beyond your current Torment level for better rewards.

Then there is the Overland Ambush, where a powerful demon can randomly begin hunting you when you are exploring Sanctuary. You will get a warning before the encounter begins and have a short window to either run or stand your ground.

Both systems were explicitly presented as previews, so the versions we saw on the PTR are not necessarily the versions that will come with Season 15. They were a little bit boring during PTR.

The Horadric Post

<img src="https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-horadric-post-d1d7d9cb19ab-680.webp" srcset="https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-horadric-post-d1d7d9cb19ab-170.webp 170w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-horadric-post-d1d7d9cb19ab-340.webp 340w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-horadric-post-d1d7d9cb19ab-680.webp 680w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-horadric-post-d1d7d9cb19ab-960.webp 960w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-horadric-post-d1d7d9cb19ab-1360.webp 1360w, https://www.duskforge.gg/media/d4-horadric-post-d1d7d9cb19ab-1919.webp 1919w" sizes="(max-width: 760px) calc(100vw - 48px), 680px" width="1919" height="1079" alt="Diablo 4 Horadric Post in-game description window pop-up, explaining and showing the new addition to Season 15. Think of it as a mailbox of sorts, although it is a one-way system and not something you can use to send items yourself to friends or something like that.

The feature appeared on the PTR in a fairly basic form, so we are still waiting to see exactly how Blizzard plans to use it once Season 15 goes live.

What We Still Do Not Know

Regardless of all of these additions, there is a pretty obvious hole in Season 15. Let's be honest, PTR was a little bit disappointing, but we do know that Blizzard has something planned for BlizzCon.

And we do not even know what the main seasonal theme is yet.

That is not because Blizzard forgot to tell us. The developers specifically said the 3.2 PTR would contain a different selection of features than usual because they wanted to keep some of Season 15 secret until BlizzCon.

In other words, the missing information is very much intentional.

That leaves a few big questions unanswered:

What is the actual Season 15 theme?

What will the main seasonal mechanic be?

Will there be a new seasonal questline or villain?

What other activities or systems are being kept off the PTR?

What balance changes will make it into the final patch?

Are Challenge Dungeons and Overland Ambushes going to receive changes before launch?

We should get answers to at least some of these questions at BlizzCon.

And that is what makes Season 15 a little unusual. Normally, the PTR gives us a fairly complete picture of a season weeks before release. This time, Blizzard is deliberately keeping some of its cards hidden.

What Could Blizzard Reveal at BlizzCon?

This is where things get interesting. Everything from here on is speculation, so do not treat any of it as confirmed.

The Missing Seasonal Mechanic

The safest prediction is also the most obvious one. Blizzard still has a main seasonal mechanic to reveal.

Soul Splinters are nice, but everyone is kind of hoping this is not just it for the next Season. And Blizzard's comments about the limited PTR suggest that there is more to Season 15 than what was available for testing.

Exactly what that could mean is anyone's guess.

It could be another progression system, a new activity, a new mechanic, or something completely different that simply was not ready to be tested alongside the rest of the PTR.

Considering how much of Season 15 has already been revealed, whatever Blizzard is holding back will have to be substantial enough to justify keeping it out of the PTR in the first place.

Could Malthael Return?

This is the much more speculative one, but it is hard not to bring up.

Season 14 has been all about the themes of Death, Reapers, and Pandemonium, and that has naturally led to plenty of speculation about Malthael, the Angel of Death from Diablo III.

There are also story details from Season 14 that have left players wondering if Blizzard is setting up something bigger for the character and his story. If Blizzard really is building toward Malthael's return, BlizzCon would be the perfect place to reveal it.

Moreover, there is the obvious Splinter of the Black Soulstone that is coming with Season 15, and this is clearly a reference to Malthael, so everything points to him being the theme for the Season.

Sadly, there is currently no official confirmation that Malthael is coming back in Season 15.

Nevertheless, if Blizzard walks onto the BlizzCon stage and starts talking about the Angel of Death, the community clearly saw it coming.

Could There Be Something Bigger?

There is another possibility worth considering.

Blizzard is not just using BlizzCon to reveal Season 15. Diablo 4 is also getting hands-on gameplay at the event, and that makes it possible that we are going to see something that was not included in the PTR at all.

That could be yet another endgame activity, a new progression system, or a new expansion, with a new class coming. This is the biggest guess from the community, because for it to be announced at BlizzCon, it needs to be huge. Like expansion-sized huge.

But, at this point, there is no evidence for any of this, so this is one area where it is probably better not to get too carried away just yet.

The Best Part Is Still Hidden

Season 15 is already looking considerably more interesting than the period we are currently going through in Season 14, but the biggest part is still what we have not seen yet. We know Blizzard has big plans for BlizzCon, but we just do not know what it is. And if the Malthael theories turn out to be right, things could get very interesting very quickly.

You are probably bored of Diablo 4 right now, so here is what is still worth doing

The last weeks of a season are for the things that last or the things you enjoy. Here is what mostly still pays off, and what to drop.

We are in the part of the season where most people hit a wall. Your build is done, you are mostly geared in all best-in-slot items with the right stats, your season rank objectives are basically completed, and logging in starts to feel like going through the motions. If that is where you are right now, it is a completely normal feeling that most of us Diablo 4 players have this late into a season.

But before the next season begins, it is worth sorting out what still gives you something and what is just wasting your evenings for no real reason or payoff. So, here are a few things you can do before the next season of Diablo 4.

Pushing the Leaderboard, If You Care About the Ladder

The Tower is the one activity that still makes sense to grind for, even this late in the season, but only for a specific reason. With leaderboards being a rather new addition to Diablo 4, it is a fun activity to do and set your own goals and challenges. Pushing your highest tier is about proving where you finished the season before it resets. If you want your name as high as possible on the leaderboard, or you just want to know your personal ceiling, grinding for a good spot at the end of a season is a good goal, as changes are less likely to happen this late. So, now is the time to push your ranking!

If you are not chasing a leaderboard spot in Diablo 4, though, be honest with yourself about it. Grinding Pit tiers purely for gear this late gives you very little, because anything you get now will reset in a few weeks anyway. You can push the pit for its unofficial leaderboards, but the official rank in-game is what most players will see - and that is the Tower. So if prestige is what you are after, the Pit does little to nothing for you now. Push for the challenge or the ranking, not because you think the loot matters.

Chasing One Last Mythic Can Still Be Fun

If there is a specific Iconic Mythic you never got and you want it for the fun of finally holding it, go for it. There is nothing wrong with chasing a rare item during the final weeks.

Just go at it with clarity. Getting an Iconic Mythic this season has been a bag of mixed feelings, and many players have farmed Diablo 4 for hours without seeing the exact item they wanted. So farm it because the hunt itself is fun, not because you expect it to change your season. If you get it, great. If you do not, you have not lost much, because that build is going into storage soon regardless.

Farming for Eternal Is the One Thing That Truly Lasts

This is an activity you can do if you care about real staying power. When the season ends, your character, your gear, your gold, and all of your materials move to the Eternal Realm of Diablo 4. That means anything you farm now for a character you plan to keep playing on Eternal is the rare thing this late that does not evaporate. However, it only really makes sense if you truly plan on playing on the Eternal Realm.

So, if you have an Eternal main you enjoy, spending your last weeks stacking gold, crafting materials, and farming gear for that character is genuinely worth it. It is basically the one grind right now that will still feel like it was worth it, even after the reset. This is the thing you should prioritize if you want your remaining playtime to mean something past this season, but only if you truly care about playing on Eternal.

SSF Is Still a Fun Challenge if You Want One

If your normal season character is done and you are bored, Solo Self-Found is a completely different way to feel the game again. There is no trading, no possibility to group up or create a party; everything is earned yourself, and it comes with its own leaderboard. SSF will not hand you anything, quite literally, and that is the entire appeal.

There is no bonus loot or faster leveling for choosing to go SSF, so if you want to try it out, it should be purely about the challenge itself. If pure self-reliance sounds fun rather than exhausting, it can easily carry you through the last weeks in a way that feels new instead of repetitive.

What You Probably Want to Stop Doing

Just as important as what to do is what to let go of.

Stop trying to get perfect gear rolls on your seasonal character. Min-maxing a build that gets retired soon is the definition of wasted time. Get it to a point where it "clears what I want it to clear" and leave it there, unless you truly enjoy the farm (with no deeper incentive).

Stop forcing yourself through activities you are not enjoying just to stay busy. The reset is coming either way, and burning yourself out on the loop now only makes you less likely to come back fresh for next season. If the fun is gone, it is completely fine to step back and save your energy for the new season.

The Grind Can Wait

Perfect seasonal gear rolls are rarely worth forcing this close to season reset. The items will transfer to Eternal, but they will not help a new seasonal character. Once a build clears the respective Diablo 4 content you care about, another tiny upgrade can demand far more time than it gives back.

There is also no need to keep running activities that stopped being fun just to remain active. Taking a break before the next season is a valid choice, especially if the alternative is returning to the same loop out of habit.

The best late-season goals either unlock something permanent, record a seasonal achievement, or give you a challenge you still enjoy. Everything else can wait until the new Season.

Season 14 got a lot right, which is exactly why these 6 problems keep coming up

Season 14 brought strong ideas, but its loot, balance, endgame, and solo-play problems still need work before Season 15.

Season 14 of Diablo 4 is entering its final weeks. The in-game Reliquary timer currently shows a mid-September date for the seasonal reset, although Blizzard has not announced the official Season 15 start. With BlizzCon happening on September 12 and 13, however, we should soon learn much more about the upcoming season. This also means that we will know more about what is coming next, only a few days before the next season should launch.

Season of Death Awakening had many good additions. Pandemonium Ruptures gave the season a fun and partially nostalgic theme (for anyone who previously played Diablo 3), Solo Self Found added a new way to play, and Mythic Uniques 3.0 opened more gearing options. But the same six problems have continued to appear across community discussions.

Mythic Uniques 3.0 Made Everything Else Feel a Little Worse

Mythic Uniques 3.0 allowed every Unique to drop or be crafted as a Mythic-quality version. That expanded the loot pool quite a bit, but it also made finding a specific Iconic Mythic much harder.

The Horadric Cube added another frustrating part on top. Upgrading a Unique currently gives you a random Mythic from the same equipment slot, rather than improving the item placed into the Cube. A good item can disappear and leave you with something that does not fit your build.

Blizzard has already confirmed changes to how this system works in Diablo 4. The Season 15 PTR introduced a direct Mythic upgrade that keeps the original item, affixes, Tempering, and Masterworking. PTR features can still change, of course, but this would make the crafting path much more reliable. Iconic Mythic targeting could still use more attention, though.

Penitent Has Become a Gear Wall

In Diablo 4, the transition from Penitent into Torment is still one of the worst parts of seasonal progression for most casual players. Your build is not fully done, but the gear needed to complete it can feel locked behind content that the current version cannot comfortably clear.

The result is an awkward loop. You need better gear to enter Torment, but Penitent is not consistently giving you the upgrades required to get there.

Season 15 will make regular Unique versions of Iconic Mythics easier to obtain earlier in progression, which should reduce the time spent using odd “in between” builds. That helps, but the overall loot situation between early game and Torment still needs work.

Endgame Activities Feel Too Similar

Diablo 4 has Nightmare Dungeons, the Pit, Towers, Helltides, boss ladders, and seasonal activities. The list is long, but too much of it feels like the same basic pattern of clearing enemies, defeating a boss, and opening another reward chest.

Season 14’s Pandemonium Ruptures are a good example. Realmwalkers and Deathtoll Chambers give the season its own activity, but there is almost no reason to keep doing them once their rewards are no longer useful.

On the PTR, Season 15 Challenge Dungeons had selectable difficulty with better rewards at higher levels. The idea itself is good, but every endgame activity needs its own reward identity and a clear, “easy-to-understand” reason to return to it.

Geared Characters Need Another Goal

Once the Season Rank (previously known as “Season Journey”) is complete and a build can handle the highest Torment levels of Diablo 4, the remaining goal is usually pushing higher Pit tiers or the Tower for leaderboard placement. That works for players who enjoy testing damage and survivability, but the experience eventually becomes the same challenge with larger numbers.

Path of Exile’s Delve feature is often used as a comparison because the risk and rewards increase as you travel deeper. Diablo 4 does not need to copy that system, but it could use a long-term activity where continued progression changes more than just how much health the enemy has.

If Diablo 4 were to receive a stronger endgame grind incentive, it would give geared characters something meaningful to pursue after the usual seasonal goals are complete.

Too Many Builds Are Falling Behind

Class balance continues to be a rather significant point of discussion throughout Season 14 and the Season 15 PTR. The problem is not limited to one overpowered class, but rather the gap between the strongest build and the remaining options can be too large within the same class.

Sorcerer and Paladin feedback has been particularly intense after the S15 PTR of Diablo 4, with Firewall repeatedly described as the only dependable Sorcerer option for the hardest content. Warlock has been much stronger in PTR testing, which was definitely needed, but unfortunately that does not solve the limited choices elsewhere.

In an ideal situation, Season 15 should bring weaker classes and builds closer to the top. Build variety is at its best when each class has multiple reliable paths through the endgame, rather than one option that feels required.

Solo Self Found Needs Better Incentives

Solo Self Found was one of the best additions in Season 14. It has separate leaderboards and gives solo progression its own identity, but it also showed that there is a not-so-insignificant gap between the efficiency of solo and group play.

SSF does not provide extra loot, materials, or experience to make up for the loss of trading and party bonuses, and it also locks you out of co-op activities like the Dark Citadel. Playing in a group still means faster clears, and each additional party member gives a Lair Boss a 33% chance to drop another Unique from its pool.

The point is that SSF does not need to be easier, but its rewards should better reflect the restrictions. Choosing the solo mode should feel like a complete way to play, not a challenge that also removes content and efficient gearing just because you do not want to party up with other Diablo 4 players.

Season 15 Has Promise

The Season 15 PTR had Legacy Uniques, Soul Splinters, Challenge Dungeons, Rebirth, and a much better Mythic upgrade path. Blizzard also confirmed that part of the season was kept out of the test so it could share more at BlizzCon, which means there is a lot more room for further improvements and changes that we are completely unaware of before release.

If Season 15 can improve gearing progression, give endgame activities better or at least clearer identities, expand build variety, and close the solo-group gap, it could fix a lot of the problems that held Season 14 back.

Which of these should Blizzard address first, though? Are there any other problems or features that you would rather see fixed or added to Diablo 4 instead?
