Diablo 4 is getting a Geralt skin through a new Witcher crossover
Buying the new Witcher 3 expansion on Battle.net will unlock a Geralt-themed skin in Sanctuary, with more details saved for BlizzCon.
Diablo 4 definitely has a lot of monsters, and it seems like Geralt of Rivia is coming to Sanctuary to help out.
During Gamescom Opening Night Live, CD Projekt Red revealed their upcoming remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as well as a new trailer for the Songs of the Past Expansion. And shortly after, CDPR and Blizzard announced a new partnership that will bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered and Songs of the Past to Battle.net, including a special crossover with Diablo 4.
Yes, you read that right. The Witcher is coming to Diablo!
Geralt Is Heading to Sanctuary
The Diablo 4 part of the announcement is pretty simple for now, but it is also the part we are most interested in.
Sadly, it is Blizzard, so nothing comes for free. Anyone who buys The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past on Battle.net will receive access to a Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo 4. So in a way, the skin is free, but you still have to spend money for the game first, even if you already own the base game on another platform. Keep in mind that it is the expansion that grants you the free skin, and not the remastered base game alone.
That is about all Blizzard and CDPR are willing to say for now.
We do not know exactly what the skin looks like yet either. Blizzard says the teams have been working together to create something special for fans of both games, with more details coming at BlizzCon in September. CDPR will attend the convention as well, so more will be shared at that moment.
Considering Geralt already spends his days hunting monsters, curses, demons, and things that really should not be alive, Sanctuary seems like a pretty natural second career.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered Launches in September
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered launches on September 29, 2026, with upgraded visuals, performance, combat, traversal, monster behavior, Witcher Signs, mounts, the skill tree, transmogrification, photo mode, finishers, and more.
The Battle.net version includes both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as well.
You can already pre-purchase the remastered version, and you can also wishlist the Songs of the Past Expansion.
BlizzCon Is Becoming Even More Interesting
We already knew that Blizzard is holding back some Season 15 information for BlizzCon, and now we are being told that the Witcher crossover will also get more details there. So sometime in September, we are apparently going to find out exactly what Geralt looks like when he chases monsters in Sanctuary!
For now though, that is all we have. There is no info about any Reliquary specific to The Witcher or any other skins such as Ciri, Yennefer, or Triss in Diablo 4. You will have to wait a few more weeks before we learn more!
