Diablo 4 players say Mythic Seals are too rare, and almost never the one you need

Some even want a guaranteed Seal for beating Mephisto on Torment 12.

If you have been farming Endgame content, you most likely realised by now that Diablo 4's Mythic Seals are pretty rare. So rare, in fact, that some players are starting to question if they are even worth hunting for.

Both on the official Diablo 4 forums and on Reddit, players have been talking about the drop rate, and the general opinion is not good. The best example would be this player quote:

"They are more useless than they are rare. So frankly I dont care if I ever see one."

That is a somewhat different complaint from the usual demand for better drop rates. The argument is not simply that Mythic Seals are too difficult to obtain, but that their rarity does not necessarily match their usefulness.

The Real Problem With Mythic Seals

Mythic Seals can drop from a variety of high-level activities, but most players pretty much have the same, shared experience with them. You can go through hundreds of runs without finding one.

The frustration is so bad that some people literally stopped even looking for them and made their builds without counting on Mythic Seals at all. And to be clear, that is not because they are weak. Mythic Seals can be really strong, giving you extra sockets and unique charm setups that a lot of top-end builds are built around, so they are far from worthless. The real catch is that they are random and very build-specific, so getting one that does not fit what you are playing can feel like a complete waste, especially after grinding so long for it and when compared to Legendary Seals.

So the frustration is less that they are weak, and more that you finally get one and it is not the one you needed.

That is what makes the current situation feel rough. A Mythic Seal is meant to be that prestigious, exciting drop, but when they are this rare and this build-specific, most players either never see one or get one they cannot really use, so the big moment ends up landing flat.

An Interesting Solution

The Diablo 4 community has plenty of ideas when it comes to making the game "better". But one solution suggested seems pretty interesting to us:

If defeating Torment XII Mephisto would guarantee a random Mythic Seal, it would give players both a good reason to reach the highest Torment tier and farm the boss, and at the same time, you would know you get something good out of it.

Of course, a guaranteed Seal would make the reward feel less special, but the argument here is that getting a Mythic Seal is only the first step. You still need the right Seal, useful stats, and a combination that really works for your build.

Unfortunately, Blizzard has not announced any planned changes to Mythic Seal drop rates or their rewards for Season 15, so we will have to see if that ever changes or not.
