Diablo 4 Season 16 finally lets you keep Cinders between Helltides
A Helltide will always be active now, so you will spend less time waiting for the next event.

It is a sneaky change, but an important one that was spotted in the latest Season 16 PTR Patch Notes.
Diablo 4 Season 16 brings some small changes to Helltides, removing the downtime between two events and making significant changes to how Cinders work.
Helltides
Helltides now start on the hour for base game zones and on the 30 minute mark in expansion zones, so a Helltide is always at least active in non-expansion zones.
Aberrant Cinders no longer reset between Helltides.
Aberrant Cinders No Longer Reset Between Helltides
Yes, you read that right. Cinders will no longer drop back to zero at the end of a Helltide. This is probably one of the biggest quality-of-life changes we are getting next season.
No more rushing with only 5 minutes left in a Helltide event, desperately trying to find all the remaining chests to spend your Cinders on before it ends and you lose everything.
Now, you can keep them for the next event if you want.
There are no details about a Cinders cap or anything like that, so we are unsure if you can really save up an infinite amount, but either way, it is a good change.
This will also make it much easier when you are farming Helltides through War Plans. However, you still lose Cinders when you die.
No More Downtime
The second change is a little less important but still good to point out.
In season 16, each Helltide will start at a different time, depending on the zone.
The base game zones will have a new Helltide every hour, and the expansion zones every 30 Minutes. This means that one Helltide is always active in non-expansion zones, and you do not have to wait 5 minutes between two events anymore.
