The Hellfire Torch is one of Diablo 4 Season 15's best hidden rewards

This secret Season 15 reward gives you another Unique Charm slot and powerful bonuses.

The Hellfire Torch is Diablo 4 Season 15's best Charm, giving you powerful stat bonuses, another Unique Charm slot, and even more flexibility with Sets. The iconic Diablo 2 item has returned as a Mythic, with a very powerful effect that can change how you build your Talisman.

However, because it is so good, getting it is not exactly a walk in the park. You will need to collect Prime Evil Splinters, track down Deckard Cain's missing journals, head to the original Tristram, and fight Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal all at once.

Why Do You Need the Hellfire Torch?

As you can see, this Mythic charm is one of the best charms you can get in the game because it comes with really powerful bonuses!

But the most important thing about it is that it also rolls a +1 Set Count bonus for a random class Set. So basically, you can get a 5-set bonus with fewer charms equipped, and that is really useful when you prepare your Talismans.

And then there is the additional Unique Charm. Normally, you can only equip one Unique Charm. Hellfire Torch allows you to wear two, so the Mythic charm + another Unique of your choice, and its Set Count bonus can help compensate for the Set Charm you are giving up.

It can be a bit confusing, but you just need to remember the following:

  • Normal situation - 6 slot total:

    • 5-set charms

    • 1 Unique charm

  • Hellfire Torch - 6 slot total:

    • 4-set charms

    • 1 Hellfire Torch

    • 1 Unique charm

How to Get Hellfire Torch

First, collect the three Prime Evil Splinters. Before you can reach the Hellfire Torch encounter, you will need three seasonal items:

  • Splinter of Destruction

  • Splinter of Hatred

  • Splinter of Terror

These have a chance to drop from anywhere, but you can farm them through the respective Capstone Dungeons of Baal, Mephisto, and Diablo. You will need to have reached Torment 10 before these Hell versions become available. Before that, the Splinters are not a guaranteed drop. You can only hold one of each at a time, so once you have all three, put them into the Horadric Cube and transmute them.

You will receive Wirt's Lucky Coin that is needed later on.

After that, you need to find all of Deckard Cain's journals that are scattered around Sanctuary. This is the more annoying part of the process if you do not know where to look, since the game does not simply hand you a quest marker for every journal.

Make sure you interact with and read the journals as you find them. Once collected all 10, return to Deckard Cain in the Imperial Library. Cain will then open a portal to his memory, taking you to a recreation of the original Tristram.

Once you are inside the recreated Tristram, head toward the fountain in the center of town and throw Wirt's Lucky Coin in there to make a wish. If you completed the required steps, the fountain will open a mysterious red portal marked "??????."

Step through it, and you will find yourself in the Season 15 version of Uber Tristram, where you have to fight all three Prime Evils at the same time. Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto are all waiting for you. The fight is definitely harder than the normal versions of the Season 15 Capstones, so do not rush into it just because you have managed to unlock the portal. Make sure you have a build that can comfortably clear Torment 12 already.

Defeating the Prime Evils rewards you with the Hellfire Torch and a lot of endgame loot, including other Mythic items and Charms, so it is definitely worth doing, even if you do not really need the Torch for your build.

The Hellfire Torch is like a long-term Talisman upgrade. You are getting really good universal bonuses. The downside is that getting there is quite long.
