Diablo 4's BlizzCon Twitch Drops are already being called underwhelming

WoW and Overwatch are getting pretty substantial rewards, but Diablo 4 players are once again left with three simple weapon cosmetics.

Yesterday, Blizzard revealed the official BlizzCon 2026 schedule, and the announcement also came with all the Twitch Drops rewards for multiple Blizzard games. The problem is that the Diablo 4 specific rewards are already getting a lot of negative feedback from players who feel that the game is getting the "short end of the stick" compared to Blizzard's other games.

From September 12 through September 15, you can watch participating Diablo content creators on Twitch to unlock three weapon cosmetics:

• 2 hours: Serrated Skean Dagger

• 4 hours: Corroded Cleaver Axe

• 6 hours: Tintinnabulation Mace

You can also subscribe to a participating Diablo creator to receive an exclusive Twitch badge. There is no visual for the badge yet, but we do know what the weapons will look like:

The rewards themselves are fairly simple weapon appearances, with no apparent VFX or particularly elaborate effects. That has become the main point of discussion among Diablo 4 players right now, especially when compared with the rewards Blizzard is offering for games such as WoW or Overwatch during BlizzCon.

Left on the Side of the Road

World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and the other Blizzard games are getting things like mounts, pets, skins, loot boxes, toys, currencies, and other cosmetics as rewards during BlizzCon. Diablo 4, meanwhile, is once again getting a few basic weapon skins.

That comparison has frustrated some players, particularly because Diablo 4 already has plenty of elaborate cosmetics locked behind its paid store. One comment even pointed out that ordinary weapons we dismantle at the Blacksmith can look more interesting than the three BlizzCon rewards. And to be honest, we can only agree.

The timing also has not helped. Blizzard has already teased big Diablo announcements for BlizzCon, and it is a really big event overall, so that makes the relatively modest Twitch rewards feel even more disappointing to some players. The criticism is not even about getting something for free, but about the feeling that Blizzard could have used one of its biggest events of the year to give Diablo 4 players something really nice for once. A pet, a really good-looking skin, a little teaser reward linked to the Witcher collaboration, a mount... anything but another dull weapon skin no one will ever use because it looks just like a basic white weapon you drop at the start of the game.

In any case, these drops will most likely not change, so at least you can claim the three weapons for free by watching for six hours in total. But a lot of players are hoping that one day, Blizzard will put a little bit more effort into the Diablo 4 free rewards, both during Twitch drops and also Season 15 collab rewards.
