Diablo 4 may not be done with the Hellfire Torch after Season 15
The Torch's unintended charm combo is staying this season, and that is only half the news.

If you spent hours farming a Hellfire Torch in Diablo 4 Season 15, Blizzard just gave you two reasons to feel pretty good about it.
First, the powerful Charm interaction people have been using is staying for the rest of the season, even though Blizzard confirmed it is not working as originally intended.
But there was another little detail in that forum post that is probably even more interesting. Blizzard has seen how players reacted to the
Hellfire Torch itself, and the team is considering its future.
Nothing is confirmed yet, but it sounds like Season 15 might not necessarily be the end of the Torch!
Blizzard Is Leaving the Torch Combo Alone
The whole post started because of the Hellfire Torch interaction players have been using with
Seal of the Golden Epiphany and
Seal of the Diamond Mind.
Basically, with the right swap, you could keep three Unique Charm effects active and still get a full five-piece set bonus. This is obviously a very strong setup, and Blizzard has now confirmed that the interaction is not what the team originally intended.
Normally, it sounds like something that would immediately get fixed.
Not this time.
Blizzard says players have already spent a significant amount of time getting their Hellfire Torches and building characters around them. Because of that, the team does not want to change the interaction in the middle of Season 15.
So if your current build uses it, you do not need to start rebuilding anything just yet.
The More Interesting Part Is What Blizzard Said Next
After explaining why the interaction is staying, Design Director Dan Tanguay also talked about the
Hellfire Torch itself and said that Blizzard has seen the response to the item, including how much players have enjoyed earning it and fitting it into their builds. There is nothing to announce yet, but Tanguay then added that the item's future is "something we're considering."
Hey everyone,
We’ve been following the discussions around the Hellfire Torch interaction that allows players to combine multiple charms, and we wanted to share an update.
The team is aware of the issue and has spent time investigating it. While we’ve confirmed that this interaction is resulting in behavior beyond what was originally intended, we’ve decided not to make changes to it during the current season.
We know many players have spent significant time earning the Hellfire Torch and building characters around it. Because of that, we want to be thoughtful about making adjustments mid-season that could disrupt those investments.
At the same time, this interaction deserves a closer look. We’d like additional time to investigate the underlying issue and ensure that any future changes are implemented correctly and behave as intended.
We’ve also seen the positive reception to the Hellfire Torch itself from many players. The item has created a lot of excitement this season, and we’ve taken note of the feedback from those who have enjoyed earning it and incorporating it into their builds. While we don’t have anything to announce today, it is something we’re considering for the future, which makes it even more important that we fully understand and address this interaction the right way.
For now, we wanted to let you know that we’re aware of the issue, actively investigating it, and discussing the best long-term path forward. As always, we appreciate the reports, feedback, and discussions that help us better understand how these systems are impacting your experience.
Thank you, and we’ll share more when we have updates.

That is worth paying attention to! The
Hellfire Torch is not exactly a random seasonal drop, because getting one means making your way through the hidden Tristram content, collecting the materials you need for Wirt's Lucky Coin, and taking on Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto together for a chance at the Torch.
And once you get one, it comes with All Stats, All Resistances, ranks to All Skills, another Unique Charm slot, and a bonus toward one of your Talisman sets. It is the kind of item you can build quite a lot around, so it is not too surprising that Blizzard has noticed how attached players have become to it.
Could the Hellfire Torch Stay in Diablo 4?
Maybe... But nothing is confirmed yet. Blizzard has not said the Hellfire Torch will become permanent, move to Eternal, or remain obtainable once Season 15 ends. The team only said it is considering the item's future.
Nevertheless, that is more than we knew before this update. So for now, anyone using the current
Hellfire Torch interaction can keep doing so for the rest of Season 15. And if you have grown fond of the item itself, there is at least a chance this will not be the last time we see it.
