There is no Diablo 4 Campfire Chat this season, and BlizzCon is why
No pre-season stream this time, but that is not the bad news it sounds like.
Diablo 4 is getting pretty close to Season 15, but we are still missing a decent amount of information about what Blizzard has planned. The content we had on PTR was definitely not the entire seasonal thing, so everyone is just playing a waiting game right now.
Normally, this is around the point where we would expect another Campfire Chat or "Developer Update" livestream to fill in the gaps. This time, though, it looks like Blizzard has a different plan, since BlizzCon is probably replacing the usual seasonal update stream, as you can see on the schedule below. The first Diablo 4 developer update is happening directly on Saturday:
This is not really new. Blizzard has moved away from the old "Campfire Chat" for a few seasons now, with the more recent livestreams generally being called "Developer Update" instead. The June 23 Developer Update, for example, covered the Season of Death Awakening and included a Q&A with the team. It is very different compared to the old Campfire chats that included much more information.
But for Season 15, nothing was announced ahead of BlizzCon. When Blizzard announced the PTR, they specifically warned everyone that we would get a different selection of features than usual because there was more to reveal at BlizzCon.
That is about as close as Blizzard can get to saying, "Just wait a little longer."
But it does make the current gap in information feel a little unusual. We know enough about Season 15 to understand some of its systems, but there are still pieces that Blizzard clearly wants to present later. And considering BlizzCon is literally happening in a few days, there is not much reason to squeeze in another big livestream immediately beforehand.
Unless they suddenly announce another stream, BlizzCon is now the obvious place to expect the remaining Season 15 reveals, and maybe also everything that will come after.
Of course, a lot of players are missing the old Campfire Chats, but for once, since it will happen during BlizzCon, it is a good sign. You should be expecting something big to be revealed. Just keep in mind that it could be about Diablo 4, but also about Diablo 1 or Diablo 2R.
In any case, it is not a lack of information because Blizzard has nothing else to say about Season 15, but rather because they want to keep it for the big show. And you only need to wait a few more days now!
