Iconic Mythics can still drop from Diablo 4 bosses, despite their terrible odds
Players report rare boss drops, but the new Blacksmith cache offers a more direct route.

Iconic Mythics are one of these things that are kind of forgotten in Diablo 4 Season 15. Rare are the builds that still need any of those items. Most just use Mythic versions of normal Uniques. So we essentially went from needing Iconic Mythic for every Meta build to not even realising you did not drop a single one this season yet. But for those who are still farming for Iconic Mythic, where do you get them now? A recent Reddit thread asked if Iconic Mythics can still drop from bosses at all, with the OP saying they had seen more than 120 Mythics over the past two weeks without finding a single one.
The short answer is yes, they can still drop. But they appear to be exceptionally rare now.
So if you are wondering if boss farming has been completely removed as a way to get these items, it has not, but there is a better way to get Iconic Mythics now.
Leftover Boss Loot Locations
There is an interesting, but currently unconfirmed, theory about where some of these drops may be coming from. On Reddit, someone claimed that Iconic Mythics were given specific boss loot locations during the Season 15 PTR, before Blizzard removed the regular Unique versions of those items for the live release. According to the theory, some of those loot locations may have remained in the game's tables. So you would have something like this:
Lord Zir:
The GrandfatherHarbringer:
Heir of PerditionVarshan:
Shroud of False DeathBeast In Ice:
DoombringerAndariel:
Andariel's VisageGrigoir:
Tyrael's MightDuriel:
Melted Heart of SeligButcher:
Harlequin CrestUrivar:
El'Druin, Sword of Justice
Ring of Starless Skies: Unknown
Other players in the thread reported drops that appear to line up with some of these locations, but there is no official confirmation that these boss-specific Iconic Mythic loot locations really exist on the live servers. So for now, you can try to farm those, but do not take it as a 100% guarantee.
The Blacksmith Is Probably Better
Even if Iconic Mythics can still drop naturally, Season 15 added a much better way of targeting them.

The Blacksmith now has a Mythic Cache that specifically rolls Iconic Mythics. The new cache was added to give you a way to spend excess
Resplendent Spark specifically on Iconic Mythics. That makes salvaging unwanted Mythics particularly useful. Instead of continuing to farm boss after boss hoping that one of the rare Iconic drops happens to appear, you can turn unwanted Mythics into
Resplendent Spark and use those for the Iconic-only cache. Since the pool for Iconic Mythics is kind of small, you have a much easier way to get the one you need. So you can farm bosses for a chance, and then just salvage all the Mythics you do not need and gamble for the Iconic cache.
You can also target specific items at the Jeweler, but it is much more expensive and not exclusive to Iconic Mythics.
